The Diffusion Beam is unique in that it operates like the [[Superspicy Curry]], as his entire moveset, excluding the Robo Beam, is usable during this Final Smash, in addition to items. Foes caught in the beam will take damage, but the beam itself has no knockback. However, there is also a powerful laser that appears instead of the spiral-shaped beam at points, which has strong knockback, and will usually KOs opponents hit by it. As the move's hitbox is directly related to the space in front of R.O.B.'s eyes, the beam can be directed at foes through the use of unorthodox methods, such as taunts. R.O.B. himself also gains [[invincibility]] while the Diffusion Beam is active.
