→‎Origin: Changed wording just to make it a little bit clearer that Porygon-Z is evolving from Porygon2, not directly from Porygon (even though that’s made decently clear by the following part)
(A) It still retains its Japanese voice in Smash 64 (assuming that's what the "this marks the only time" part was talking about); B) 4/5 times Porygon spoke in non-Japanese-exclusive media isn't really notable; and C) Does Porygon even have an English voice actor in Snap or that "Who's That Pokemon" segment?)

Porygon is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in {{iw|bulbapedia|Generation I}} of the Pokémon games, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #137 as the "Virtual Pokémon". In these games, it could only be obtained by purchasing it at the {{iw|bulbapedia|Celadon Game Corner}} up until Generation IV where it can be found in the wild. In {{iw|bulbapedia|Generation II}}, it gained an evolution, [[Porygon2]], which it evolves into when traded holding an {{iw|bulbapedia|Upgrade}}.  In {{iw|bulbapedia|Generation IV}}, it gained yet another evolution, {{pkmn|Porygon-Z}}, which it evolves into when traded holding a {{iw|bulbapedia|Dubious Disc}}. This makes it the only Pokémon that needs to be traded twice to reach its final evolution.
