	I'm guessing that the music tracks from ''Sonic 1'' and ''2'' are rarely used ~~and~~ remixed in modern ''Sonic'' games is because Masato Nakamura, the games' composer, owns the copyright to those tracks and Sega must pay him royalty to use them. This is likely the reason why there ~~hasn't (or~~ haven't) been any ''Sonic 1'' and ''2'' remixes in ''Smash''.
