Captain Falcon extents his fist behind him, doing 16% damage and reasonable knockback. It is the strongest back aerial in the game. A pretty safe move to use with its decent range, as it is good for edgeguarding and can space well. While it has somewhat high landing lag under normal circumstances, this issue can obviously be neglected via Z-cancelling. It is also pretty good to use in combos at low to moderate percentages, being able to combo into another back aerial (a pseudo-wall of pain variation), a reverse back aerial, or a Captain Falcon (for a variation of the Ken Combo) at low to moderate percentages. A down aerial used on a grounded opponent can also combo into it at percentages around 140%, which is usually enough to KO. The move can also be used during soft platform landings and drops to mixup Falcon's aerial game on stages such as Dream Land. by using this move while falling, the player can land an attack, and will eather launch the opponint, or will send it going to a diferent loacation on the battlefeild, allowing the player to get to the opponint, and if this is done quick enogh, the player can start a combo before the opponint has a chance, allowing for extra damage and possibly knockback.

When Captain Falcon hits an opponent with this move in the NTSC version of Smash 64, it produces a hard "Ping!" cartoon sound, while his other aerials produces a regular cartoon sound.
