Zigsta began Brawling with his crewmates in his hometown of Slidell, Louisiana, but his game really stepped up upon moving to Austin, Texas, to attend college at the University of Texas at Austin. There he began meeting with fellow Austin Smashers, notably PhantomX, Hylian, and Bored.

While Zigsta almost always goes Pokémon Trainer in tournaments, he sometimes busts out his secondary, Bowser. In fact, some Smashers even say that his Bowser is better than his Pokémon Trainer.
Zigsta always brings his {{SSBB|Squirtle}} plushie to tournaments. When he plays serious matches, he puts on his hat that says "DIRECTOR" on it.
