It originally debuted in ''Brawl''. The song begins in the key of F major, which most closely resembles the ''FireRed'' and ''LeafGreen'' iteration of the tune; after the first loop, it drops to D major, which matches the original ''Red'' and ''Blue'' version. It then rises to E major which resembles the ''Diamond'' and ''Pearl'' iteration of the tune and finally back to F major for the loop.

As opposed to the original march-style feeling of the original song, this remix has more of a progressive rock style, while retaining the prominent swung rhythm.

In contrast to the original battle theme, it has a light, chamber orchestra-esque feeling, using instruments such as piano, violin, and accordion, as well as elements of chiptune; the ''Champion Cynthia'' segment, however, is very close to the original piano-based theme.
