+I just watched the amiibo trailer to double-check, and nowhere did Bill Trinen say that amiibo figures would be used to transfer customized characters between games,  just that the amiibo can be customized themselves. He also doesn't even say that amiibo will even be compatible with the 3DS version, although it is implied. Furthermore, the 3DS peripheral doesn't come out until next year, long after amiibo and both versions of Smash 4 come out, meaning players would have to wait until next year to be able to transfer customizations if they so desired.
