The Name for the Ice Climbers' new alternate costume.
Hi, Aidan. I noticed you undid my edit to the Ice Climbers' subsection on the alt page for SSBU. I did not really understand your justification: "that's not how it works though, the primary one doesn't change in the artwork but it does in-game (to my knowledge, I could be very wrong)". I'm sorry, but can you please elaborate or rephrase your reasoning? To elaborate on my original revision, Nana takes the primary role in colors 5 - 8 (currently named as "Red", "Brown", "White", and "Lavender", respectively). As a reader, I assume at least two of these names derive from Nana, not Popo. This is because Popo is wearing a blue parka in the alt labeled "Red" and a white parka in the alt labeled "Brown". Nana is the only Ice Climber reflecting these names, which makes sense since Nana is the one the player controls for these colors. With this in mind, I thought "Orange" would be more appopriate for the new alt because you control the orange-clad Nana with this alt, not the lavender-clad Popo. I hope that makes sense. I'm sorry if I originally did not convey that well. Nintendo101 (talk) 12:57, 30 June 2018 (EDT)
:Given what we have right now, I currently agree with this viewpoint, but the colour names probably aren't final anyways. They'll be given a go-over when the game is out and I upload the ripped images, head icons, and Find Mii designations. ::That's fair, but until the game launches, I think we should at least try to maintain consistency in the interim for readers who come to the Alt page.Nintendo101 (talk) 13:14, 30 June 2018 (EDT)
:::What I meant was that Nana doesn't switch in the portrait, but, to my knowledge, the order of the colors stays the same (main color goes to leader, back color goes to partner). Granted, I could be very wrong about that - I've never played the Ice Climbers seriously in Brawl to be able to have this memorized - but if you can prove my statement wrong, then what I said can be completely ignored. <span style="color: blue;">Aidan</span>, <span style="color: blue;">the College-Bound Rurouni</span> 13:26, 30 June 2018 (EDT)
::::What you said is not entirely incorrect, but for the eighth alt, Nana (the Ice Climber wearing orange) is the leader, not Popo. The renders on the CSS do not reflect this because Popo is in front of Nana in each render (which may incorrectly suggest that Popo is the leader), but this is not true. This was the case in Brawl as well. Nana is the leader for this alt. Orange is the leading color.Nintendo101 (talk) 13:36, 30 June 2018 (EDT)
:::::And that's what I was referring to: Nana isn't the one shown in front, but her color still stayed in place. That's all I needed to know. <span style="color: blue;">Aidan</span>, <span style="color: blue;">the College-Bound Rurouni</span> 13:37, 30 June 2018 (EDT)
:::::I'm sorry, I should have read your responses more clearly. The order of the colors does not stay the same in the render. If Nana is the leader and she is wearing red in the render, she is still wearing red in-battle regardless of her position to Popo in the CSS artwork. == Sonic's alternate costumes ==
About the edits to Sonic's alternate costumes, I apologize for not seeing the Classic Sonic discussion, and I'll leave that alone. However, I'd still like to dispute the other costumes. The Sonic 2-based wristbands are too obscure to be a legitimate reference (they likely originated out of necessity for Sonic's team colors in Brawl), and the claimed "Ark of the Cosmos"-inspired costume doesn't bear any resemblance to the original design; my best guess would be that it could be a reference to Tails' classic design, which has black cuffs on his gloves. Also, the "Dark Sonic"-inspired costume doesn't resemble the actual Dark Sonic form, which is depicted as a silhouette with blank white eyes;Smash doesn't represent Sonic X in any other way, so it's more likely a coincidence. Altogether, I think these references are reaching, and the only legitimate passing references would be Silver's gloves (which match his design and are the same gold color), the purple Chaos Emerald cuffs, and the Crystal Ring cuffs (which are cyan and glowing, like the original). Again, I'm sorry to edit them out of nowhere without explaining myself, but I wanted to present my points instead of doing a double-revert. DryKirby64 (talk) 21:25, 4 July 2018 (EDT)
:The Sonic X thing I won't fight against, but Sakurai isn't one to not reference original material - out of the numerous alts in the entire series, rarely is there one without a reference. As for the Ark of the Cosmos, the cuffs there are silver, like the bracelets; Classic Tails' are black. <span style="color: blue;">Aidan</span>, <span style="color: blue;">the College-Bound Rurouni</span> 21:46, 4 July 2018 (EDT)
::I agree with Serena that the green and red alts are probably not based on the Special Stage sprites, and to assert as much is a reach. The sprites suggest the figure with the thumbs up has red arms with regular gloves like Sonic's, not cuffs. They don't look anything like these alts. While Sakurai and his dev team like to allude to the source material, it's an open secret that Sonic was a rushed inclusion in Brawl, and I don't think it's improbable to believe that the alts were not given as much thought as the planned characters like Pikachu. As for the black alt, I agree that the connection to Dark Sonic is likely not intentional. I honestly think it was originally suppose to resemble Shadow, but Sega didn't want Sonic to resemble any other character and forced them to change it a bit, but the final design for the alt is too derivative to be linked to him. For the new alts introduced in SSB4, I don't think NiGHTS, Classic Sonic, and Silver are too much of a stretch. They seemed to have remedied the lack-luster Brawl alts (until Ultimate, in which Sonic was made blue in all of them again...).
::This is loosely related, but I have the same feeling about Ridley's yellow alt. I think it only has an unintentional, passing resemblance to the gold statue from Super Metroid. The skin color isn't right. The interior of his wings are blue. His eyes aren't red. One of the screenshots of Pikachu on the Ultimate site depict him as a gold figure, suggesting they'll be some kind of mode that turns players gold, and it'd be confusing to include an alt based on a gold statue that could be used outside of the mode. It just doesn't make sense. Nintendo101 (talk) 06:25, 5 July 2018 (EDT)
Swearing
Is swearing allowed on this wiki? Because when I looked at the early history of the Super Smash Bros Ultimate website, I saw you say the f-word over Ridley being in the game. Are you allowed to do that?

Feet and Meters
Hi, I mentioned feet and meters because the unit of measurement directly tells what the size of the platform is going to be. Feet = small, meters = big. You don't need to know the version of the game, you can see the unit and immediately know the size. --Mugg1991 (talk) 09:09, 8 July 2018 (EDT)
:I still see no reason to emphasize it, since it differs based on the version, not the unit of measurement. <span style="color: blue;">Aidan</span>, <span style="color: blue;">the College-Bound Rurouni</span> 13:57, 8 July 2018 (EDT)
Mario's Time Machine
Regarding our minor edit war on the List of Super Smash Bros. references in other franchises, Mario's Time Machine may not be developed by Nintendo, but it is published by them, which would make it a first party game. None of the Super Smash Bros. series games are developed by Nintendo, and yet they are first party games (with second- and third-party characters, but that's beside the point). As long as the game is published by Nintendo, it makes the game first-party. I'm pretty sure that's correct, but if there's something that proves otherwise, I'd like to know it. Alex95 (talk) 02:07, 10 July 2018 (EDT)
:wikipedia was published by Nintendo, despite being made by Sega, the company that owns Sonic; is he suddenly not a third party character? Hell, the first few Mega Man games were on NES, despite being made by Capcom. Is Mega Man not a third party character?
:The company that develops the games is the one that owns the characters; they literally make the game itself. The company that publishes it simply puts it on their consoles. ::Got conflicted as I was typing out a correction :P You're right, Fire Emblem and Kirby are published by Nintendo, but they are second-party. The game may have been handled by a third-party developer, but the problem is it is also a Mario game, which makes this confusing for me. == "except that you CAN select Zero Suit Samus in Subspace after you get Samus" ==
If you're referring to the C-stick thing, I have a question: does that work during cutscenes? Because if it doesn't, you'd still have to use Samus or Pikachu. Otherwise, you'd be right. Unowninator (talk) 12:43, 15 July 2018 (EDT)

::But until then, should we include Pikachu or not? Unowninator (talk) 12:52, 15 July 2018 (EDT)
:::Seeing as how Pikachu wasn't there to begin with in regards to the "thirteen characters" list, I have a feeling that he doesn't qualify.
