(→Origin: Wario Waft does not originate from that particular microgame in WarioWare: Smooth Moves, it traces back way beyond that. Stop removing this.) |

The move is based on ''{{s|mariowiki|WarioWare: Smooth Moves}}'' microgame ''{{s|mariowiki|He Who Smelt It...}}'' | The move is based on Wario's scatological personality and his general love for toilet humor as seen in numerous game manuals and promotional websites for many of his games, mainly for the Japanese market as the Western market leaves out this trait of Wario's personality. One of the first instances concerning Wario and farting is the Japanese manual for ''{{s|mariowiki|Wario Land II}}'', where Wario mentions that his {{s|mariowiki|Hot Wario}} reaction was not produced "because his fart caught on fire". However, farting would not be part of the actual ''Wario'' games until the ''{{s|mariowiki|WarioWare: Smooth Moves}}'' microgame ''{{s|mariowiki|He Who Smelt It...}}'', where Wario is seen constantly farting, forcing the player to waft the air by waving the Wii Remote side-to-Side to win the game. In ''{{s|mariowiki|Mario Strikers Charged}}'' (released a year before ''Brawl'') his Super Ability is {{s|mariowiki|Gas Mask!}}, in which he farts and leaves behind a trail of green gas that flips the controls of anyone who passes through it. When the gas comes into contact with fire it will cause a detonation. Wario Waft later makes an appearance as Wario's skill in ''{{s|mariowiki|Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games}}''. | ||
