:Mmm, alright, my defence here would have been but the Brawl and SSB4 trophies of Ice Kirby also name Kirby's Adventure first and both of them are full blue although I was in the same boat with the sprite being not 1-1 but likewse thinking about palette limiations. Also, there is similar situation is with Samus pink alt., to quote: Based on the Gravity Suit's in-game sprite from Super Metroid (Smash 64 source, btw I think the page now is unavailable), but more closely resembles the color scheme of the Varia Suit of the original Metroid when missiles are selected. :I think I have founded why it is like it is. If you go to the JP Smash Bros. 64 webpage where the alt colors are, you can find the Ice Kirby source is from Kirby Super Star but if you notice, Kirby does actually have the purple feet as the game of origin does. But visiting this wiki, Kirby's SSB 64 costume alts have the blue feet as Ice Kirby from Kirby's Adventure (I also checked the textures for the 3D model of that alt, it is also dark blue). My conclusion is that the Smash Bros. 64 webpage was taken from an early version of the game as searching for footage of the JP version of the game still shows a full blue Kirby in case it could have been a Japan Only thing before the International release made changes and adjustments. For Ness, it's more of a nitpick of mine. I know the cyan outfit have a Master Belch print, but I think it should change the wording as the color scheme and the print of this costume is themed around Master Belch and his stronger second form, Master Barf as they have colors that matches the whole outfit. Ignoring the cyan like green color, red it's found both for Master Belch's lips (a brown-ish red) and the body of Master Barf body (looking at the overworld sprite; a very red pink) that the shirt, pants and some parts of the shoes have. On the other hand the front part of the cap also have a purple color, similar of that of Master Barf lips or even the blue-ish color of Master Belch clay model. == Incineroar's Shiny Rewording ==
The text for Incineroar's shiny palette in the page says "Resembles its shiny coloration.", and I'm asking if it could be changed with "Based on its shiny coloration, with a black torso instead of gray.", because I think unlike the other shiny palettes, this one is intentionally looking like the actual shiny (because of the white fur), while the other shiny palettes are harder to confirm because they look more like compromises of limited color swapping.
I've seen people claim that Incineroar's shiny alt isn't accurate just because of this article (Aaronitmar's video mainly) and I think it should be changed to state that alt is absolutely the shiny form.
It's technically not accurate because they actually made the color of the chest change unlike the real shiny, but I think that's easy to overlook since the important parts of the palette is kept intact.

:I don't think it is a necessary change. Pikachu's red alt is much closer to its shiny than Incineroar's is to its shiny and yet we say "resembles". Someone making a video about means nothing. --CanvasK (talk) 19:35, September 29, 2022 (EDT)
::That's fair, could the entry be at least edited to mention "Resembles Incineroar's shiny color, with a darker colored chest."? It'd be informative all around if the entry stated what's the difference with the actual shiny regardless. Kirb-Star (talk) 00:59, September 30, 2022 (EDT)
:::I have no issue with that. May as well extend it to the other Pokemon while I'm at it. --CanvasK (talk) 06:56, September 30, 2022 (EDT)
Wario's biker alts
Wario second and third biker alts look nothing like his player 3 and 4 color schemes from Mega Party Game$! at all. Literally go see them for yourself: https://www.spriters-resource.com/gamecube/wariowareincmegapartygame/sheet/57017/, they changed the colors of his outfit too much in Smash for the references to even make sense.
His first biker alt doesn't really look like a Mega Party Game$! reference either, but not counting the gray pants, blue gloves, or the red belt from that costume it atleast manages to be close enough to the player 1 color sheme from that game, unlike the other costumes i just mentioned. --Improvisado (talk • contribs) 20:29, October 7, 2022  (GMT)
Miscellaneous post on potential origins or small details
Some small comments on random characters which I wanted to share.
-Falco's green costume has a slight resemblance to his outfit in Star Fox Adventures. There's a lot of differences but could be worth pointing out. This specific uniform also matches much more with Fox's new green costume in Ultimate.
-Cloud's blue costume was worn more directly by Cloud, as a Shinra infantry uniform here. Might be good to link it here alongside the 3rd Class SOLDIER uniform image. The much more vivid brown boots also resemble his actual boots as seen in FFVII's models, which are almost a muted dark grey in default Cloud in Smash.
-Sonic's orange costume resemble very closely his design as a sprite in the Master System/Game Gear games, where they were always portrayed as orange.. The checkpoint hand also has a red arm rather than a red cuff so might be getting outdated as a reference.

Snake's Black Costume
I would not say it resembles the metallic skin for Snakes suit in MGS4 but rather Big Boss's sneaking suit in Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes.
Piranha Plant Alt 7
I believe that Piranha Plant's 7th alt color is actually based on modern renditions of the Cheep Chomp, another enemy from the Mario series. It's purple body and, notably, it's pink lips are a far better fit for the alt than the examples currently given. The fact that the Cheep Chomp is also an enemy who primarily attacks Mario by biting and eating him makes the connection very easy, in my opinion. == Sheik (White) ==
Sheik's white costume could reference Tetra from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, that while not Sheik, she is also secretely Zelda. Tetra's pants are white like this costume albeit it is also applied to the arms, the part around the Sheikah logo is light blue like Tetra's shirt and, while her scarf has a slightly more pink-ish hue, it is close to Sheik's red scarf in this costume.

Daisy's Section
There is a remark describing Peach's classic look along with Daisy as being a curly-haired brunette. Daisy's hair might be styled in a flip, but it is arguably not at all curly in regard to what curly hair actually looks like, and Daisy's hair is officially orange, and has never actually been brown, especially compared to characters with brown hair. Daisy is not a brunette, she is a redhead, and her hair is not curly. Someone also pointed out this color more-so resembles her art from Mario Print World, which it honestly does. Can someone actually able to edit this protected page revise this info? TimonLeslieBerkowitz (talk) 21:36, October 14, 2023 (EDT)
:The description is saying that Peach is the curly brunette and that Daisy resembles that, not that Daisy is a curly brunette. I'll at least remove the bit about "curly-haired" because neither Peach nor Daisy have that kind of hair. I'll hold off on the Mario Print World thing since that game appears to not have had the best quality control or color accuracy. --CanvasK (talk) 22:45, October 14, 2023 (EDT)
from
It's been a long time since you replied so I figured it'd be best to follow-up on your talk page. The problem I'm bringing up with it being described as such is it's implying Daisy herself has brunette hair akin to someone's perception of the sprite. If anything, too, that sprite had maroon hair, anyway, as it was a dark red color used, not actually brown. Seen here: link There is a similar erroneous description on here of Zelda's debut The Legend of Zelda color being described as brunette even though it's based on this: link where like Daisy it is much more of an orange color, even on the Smash model. TimonLeslieBerkowitz (talk) 19:16, December 18, 2023 (EST)
:I can see where the confusion comes from, but the wording and the fact that Daisy is in neither SMB2 or 3 should suggest it is referring to Peach: "Resembles Peach's appearance in Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3, where [Peach's] sprite had brunette hair."
:The description for Zelda says it is based on the Red Ring sprite colors, which is closer to Brunette. The costume has red in the dress which is closer to the sprite while the artwork has a pink dress. --CanvasK (talk) 19:44, December 18, 2023 (EST)
Cyan Inkling's Section
Hi, I noticed an error on the Ultimate alternate costumes page. The cyan Inkling is listed as wearing the Retro Specs, but they're actually the Black Arrowbands. The artwork hyperlinked in the cyan Inkling's section of text is indeed wearing the Retro Specs, but the render & in-game model is wearing the Black Arrowbands. I'd fix the error myself, but I can't due my account being new & the page having protection. I was wondering if some 1 would be willing to make the edit for me plz. <small>—Preceding unsigned comment added by ComfiestBlanket (talk • contribs) 19:35, November 14, 2023</small>
