E3 is a annually game-conferense that has been held in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Santa Monica throughout the history. Nintendo has also showed many new things in the Super Smash Bros. series since 2001.
In E3 2001, Super Smash Bros. Melee was announced, complete with a trailer.

On E3 2005, the Nintendo Revolution (now called Wii) was unveild. Satoru Iwata stated that four major games was in production, three of which was called Super Mario Wii, Metroid Prime 3 and The Legend of Zelda Wii. They was later confirmed to be Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The fourth one was called Super Smash Bros. Wii and was later renamed Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Sakurai was totally unexpected about this confirmations since Saotur not had aware him.
At E3 2006, Super Smash Bros. Brawl was officially announced at the After-Hour Press Conferense, with the very first trailer. This come as a bit of a shock since all major games is unveild that the normal Press Conferense. The trailer has became somewhat famous, because the incorrect statement that the Labrador Retriever should be an item, and no mention of [[Assist Trophy] was made. The same come true with Final Smash, with many thought just was a extraordinary Smash Attack.

On E3 2007, a 15-Second Representation was showed to showcase the things already known about SSBB. However, the Representation aslo incidentally confirmed Donkey Kong.
