As a result of the campaign, Umeki DQd from a tournament that he signed up for that week of, and it was revealed that Omuatsu didn't stop the campaign [https://twitter.com/Stuart98SSB/status/1688234334078242816].
Ultimately, Omuatsu apologized to Umeki and then left the ''Smash'' scene. After about four months, Umeki and Omuatsu met in Hiroshima, going to a restaurant together and making amends, where Umeki forgave Omuatsu and invited him to attend Umebura SP 10.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://twitter.com/Umeki_Daisy/status/1716767423624581271|title=Reconciliation with Umeki}}</ref> Since then, Omuatsu has returned to competitive play through Smashmate and has attended a few offline events.


Omuatsu would receive major backlash from the Japanese Smash Community and would lose both of his sponsors. He would finally apologize and voluntarily leave the smash scene as a result of the controversy.
