Harriettheguy entered the competitive scene in Tampa, Florida in January 2006. He plays Melee using a very quick, erratic, and creative Fox, and is now one of the better Foxes in Florida. He currently attends the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.
History
Harriettheguy was introduced to competitive Melee in 2006 by his boyfriend Daniel Schwartz (813 679 9201). He picked up Captain Falcon early on, and later changed to Fox. He practiced many hours to become technically proficient and efficient, including bringing his controller to class in high school to practice under his desk.
After he graduated high school, he started school at the University of Florida, where he began playing with the the remnants of the first generation of the crew The Cake Eaters including Exarch and Rohins, and other smashers like RockCrock and SubScorpion. He has since cultivated a Fox that relies heavily on creative approaches and edge-guarding.
The spring following his arrival at UF, Brawl was released, and Harriettheguy initially played Fox, trying to transfer his Melee play style, but ultimately being unsuccessful. Since then, he has played brawl more casually. His character in Brawl now is Samus, whose slow speed and absurd floatiness provide a different outlet for his creativity.
Harriettheguy now plays with other smashers in Gainesville, including Raistlin, BladeofApollo, RockCrock, and, until recently, Exarch and Renth. He has teamed with RockCrock on many occasions for local and regional tournaments.
