Tightening it up.
(Partly undid edit by Queen Junko: The victory screen thing has been seen as the most likely purpose, and should probably be noted as such. Speculation is one of those not-black-and-white things. I cut the other crap though.)

Unusually, while the stage has a standard set of [[blast line]]s, they are located extremely far from the stage's center; as a result, the game will [[crash]] before players come in contact with them, due to the game being unable to process the character's position on the screen.

The purpose for DUMMY remains unknown to this day; while other stages, such as TEST and IceTop were most likely used for programming testing (and the latter being planned as another Ice Climbers Stage), DUMMY has nothing to show what it was used for. It has been speculated, however, that the stage is used for the victory screens.
While other unplayable stages, such as [[TEST]] or IceTop, were likely used for programming tests or acted as potential ideas for playable stages, DUMMY's purpose is unknown and no information within the games suggests what its intended purpose was. It has been speculated, however, that the stage is used for the [[results screen]].
