 Sans is a skeleton that Frisk first encounters after leaving the Ruins. He is seen tagging along with his brother Papyrus as Papyrus attempts to capture Frisk, but consistently fails. After befriending Papyrus, Frisk has the option to visit Sans's house. Sans at first appears to be a laid back and lazy character but as the game goes on, it's clear he's more aware than he first lets on.
-In the pacifist and normal mode, Sans is re-encountered in the Hall of Judgement before facing Asgore. Sans would "judge" Frisk, reavealing that experiance pints and levels are directly linked to how willing the player is to inflict pain and death on others. His speech will change depending on what the player has done previously, with special dialogue if the player killed Papyrus. He then crawls away, dying off-screen.
