Celebi first appeared in the games ''Pokemon Gold'' and'' Silver''. It made its SSB debut in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'' as a rare [[Pokeball]] pokemon that awarded the "Celebi Catcher" score achievement and the Celebi Trophy. When released from a Pokeball, Celebi would appear on screen for a few seconds, then fly off. It was confirmed on December 4th, 2007 that Celebi would appear in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]''.
