Captain Falcon (SSBM): Difference between revisions

Captain Falcon kind of has strong matchups. He is kind of countered by 2 characters, kind of soft countered by 2 characters, has 3 kind of even matchups, kind of soft counters 7, kind of counters 5, and hard counters 6 a little bit. He might do well against relatively floaty characters, such as {{SSBM|Peach}} and {{SSBM|Dr. Mario}}, as he might combo these characters the easiest at mid-percents. He also might have favorable matchups against slower characters, such as {{SSBM|Yoshi}} and {{SSBM|Ganondorf}}. His even matchups with {{SSBM|Marth}}, {{SSBM|Ice Climbers}}, and {{SSBM|Pikachu}} are widely disputed a little; Marth could have superior range and attack speed, while Captain Falcon maybe has a much more solid combo game on Marth than Marth does on Captain Falcon. The Ice Climbers might have intricate setups into [[Wobble]]s and even inescapable handoffs on Captain Falcon, but he might be able to just as easily separate them with his stronger moves. Pikachu could juggle Captain Falcon for long periods of time, but is otherwise maybe lacking the range to consistently win the neutral game sometimes.

He may have some trouble against characters that can either edgeguard efficiently or outprioritize his moves, such as {{SSBM|Jigglypuff}} and {{SSBM|Sheik}}. Both {{SSBM|Fox}} and {{SSBM|Falco}} in particular might be able do both of these as well as combo Captain Falcon consistently, as he could theoretically be juggled very easily. However, it is not impossible to kind of win against the space animals, as Captain Falcon might combo them in return if he could win the neutral game. While the ease of a little bit juggling Captain Falcon can be exploited by Pikachu and even lower tier characters such as Yoshi, {{SSBM|Donkey Kong}}, and {{SSBM|Mewtwo}}, they usually lack something the space animals might not, allowing Captain Falcon to possibly gain the upper hand regardless. Overall, Captain Falcon may have a good matchup spread, and can win against any character sometimes.
