Mike Haze eventually met a smasher by the name of INKS, who lived about 10 minutes away from him. Through INKS, Mike Haze learned advanced techs.  INKS eventually moved, however.  Mike Haze then ventured off to play new people, and is responsible for training/teaching smash to players such as Nes, Morb, and Tofu.  He is responsible for the bringing together of a lot of the 818 smash community. He hosts smashfests at least a few times a week.

Mike Haze then played ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl'' competitively, and was ranked 3rd on the Southern California Power Rankings prior to his retirement. He traveled to Northern California about once every other month to compete with most smashers from the West Coast. He is still generally considered the best ''Brawl'' Marth player in the United States, as he has beat top players such as Ally before in tournament, and has significantly outperformed other Marths in the country.
