wikipedia reprises his role as Cloud in all regions, albeit via recycled voice clips from Super Smash Bros. 4. This makes him the first character to remain fully voiced in Japanese in all regions despite having an existing English voice actor. In Sephiroth's reveal trailer, and as part of the version 10.1.0 update, Sakurai reprises his role as Cloud with new voice lines exclusively for the Advent Children costumes, albeit only for his aesthetically different Omnislash Ver. 5.

Cloud is currently ranked 11th out of 86 characters on the current Ultimate tier list. A noteworthy drop from his ranking in Smash 4 where he was ranked 2nd out of 55 characters. Cloud's already great movement was further improved from Smash 4 thanks to his jump squat being lowered to 3 frames all while receiving landing lag reductions to his already safe aerials improving his advantage state and combo game. Despite nerfs to his range, Cloud's hitboxes from his |Buster Sword| are still fairly large allowing him to outrange a good chunk of Ultimate's roster. Cloud also possesses one of the best out-of-shield options in the game with his |Climbhazard| making pressuring him and landing against him rather difficult. Cloud also retaints |Limit Charge| which further improves his special moves.

However, Cloud still has many issues including an underwhelming grab game and an exploitable recovery. He would also receive drastically nerfs likely due to his dominance in smash 4. Along with the nerf to his range, Cloud's limit would be nerfed as his specials would deal less damage and knockback and the full charge of limit itself now only lasts for 15 seconds forcing the Cloud user to be more cautious when using it. Cloud ability to kill is also not as consistent due to the limit nerfs as well as Cloud's down aerial no longer reliably being a combo starter.
