Pivoting, or DA Dashing is the use of the frame at which a character turns during a dash-dance, in which any normal ground options are available as if the character were standing still — smashes, grabs and tilts can occur here without the lag that usually comes from using these attacks after a dash. However, this technique is very hard to do when the player don't know the timing.

You can go to training mode with Marth or Sheik and set the speed to 1/2 or 1/4. Do a Dash Dance, and you could clearly see when he was standing where you can do any attack. If the player miss it, the player will do dash attack. When the player gets it, they will perform forward smash, forward tilt and grabs.

The tactic was discovered by Philly Billy.
