This is the list of known changes in version 1.0.4 of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. All claims on this page must be verifiable, preferably with a trustable source link, and must compare both the old and new states. Ensure that all changes are also listed on the respective pages.

Bowser

  • Nerf Self-destructs using Flying Slam now KO Bowser first instead of the opponent. When Bowser is KO'd, the opponent is released from the grab, potentially allowing them to recover back onto the stage.

Captain Falcon

  • Buff Up Smash now does 9% damage on the first hit as opposed to 8%.
  • Buff Falcon Kick does 9% damage when landing instead of 7%.

Dr. Mario

  • Buff Dash attack does 9% damage instead of 8%.
    • Change It now does vertical knockback as opposed to oblique.

Ganondorf

  • Nerf Sourspot of Down Smash's second hit now does 15-16% base damage as opposed to 19%.

Kirby

  • Buff Base damage of Side Smash has changed from 15% to 16%.
  • Buff Base damage of Down Smash has changed from 14% to 15%.

Little Mac

  • Nerf Second hit of neutral attack does 2% damage instead of 3%.
  • Buff Forward smash (forward and upward) do 20% base damage instead of 19%.
  • Buff A sweet spotted Up Smash now does 21% base damage instead of 20%.

Mario

  • Buff First hit of neutral combo does 3% damage instead of 2%.
  • Buff Forward air does 14% damage, up from 10%.
  • Nerf Up tilt does 6% damage, down from 7%.
  • Nerf Forward smash does 14% base damage as opposed to 16%.
  • Nerf Up smash does 14% base damage as opposed to 15%.
  • Nerf Neutral air does 8% damage, down from 9%.
  • Nerf Down air now does 6% damage instead of 10%, with each hit doing 1/2 of its original damage.

Meta Knight

  • Buff Neutral aerial deals 10% damage sweetspotted and 7.5% sourspotted instead of 7% sweetspotted and 5% sourspotted.
  • Buff Forward throw now deals 9% damage to all opponents instead of only dealing 3% to most opponents.
  • Nerf The second hit of forward aerial can no longer meteor smash opponents.

Mii Brawler

  • Buff Side smash does 26% damage when fully charged instead of 25%.
  • Buff Up smash does 19% damage when fully charged instead of 18%.

Pikachu

  • Buff Neutral air now does 1% more damage, doing 9% damage as opposed to 8% with a clean hit.
  • Buff Skull Bash now does 10% damage when uncharged as opposed to 6%.


Rosalina & Luma

  • Nerf Luma respawn time changed from 8 seconds to 13 seconds.

Wario

  • Nerf Removed "wectoring", a glitch allowing Wario to rocket back onstage just after being able to act after knockback.
