King Dedede throwing a Gordo in SSBB.

Gordo is a regular enemy in the Kirby universe and are notorious for being impervious to attack. They are used as (bouncing) projectiles occasionally thrown in King Dedede's Side Special Move, Waddle Dee Toss, and also occasionally appear during his Final Smash, Waddle Dee Army. Gordo is the rarest of the three and appears in a ratio of 35:10:4 with respect to the other two creatures. They have powerful knockback (greatest of the three) that propels opponents upward. Unlike Waddle Dee or Waddle Doo, it disappears the second time that it lands on the ground. Gordo also appears as a sticker.

Trivia

  • Despite what its Trophy says, they have indeed been known to move, either back and forth along a set line, bouncing on the ground, or orbiting a platform.
  • If a gordo hits an opponent's shield at the proper angle, it will continuously travel through the air in a straight path without landing or disappearing until it travels off of the screen.
  • Gordos also appear as enemies in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins for Game Boy.
