'''Phantom Slash''' is {{SSB4|Zelda}}'s new down special move in ''Super Smash Bros. 4''. It involves Zelda shooting out a projectile, that then materialises into a '''Phantom''', a disembodied guardian suit of armor from ''[[The Legend of Zelda]]'' series, that then attacks the opponent. It can also block attacks, which will destroy the Phantom, though it has not been stated if the Phantom has an amount of HP that must be depleted to be destroyed. It appears the move can be charged to send the Phantom farther distances, and the projectile can be reflected back at Zelda, where the Phantom will then attack her. | '''Phantom Slash''' is {{SSB4|Zelda}}'s new down special move in ''Super Smash Bros. 4''. Phantom Slash is Zelda's new down special move in Super Smash Bros. 4. It involves Zelda shooting out a projectile, that then materialises into a Phantom, a disembodied guardian suit of armor from The Legend of Zelda series, that then attacks the opponent.
Appearance-wise, the design of the Phantom is identical to the Phantoms that appear in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Specifically, the colors match that of a Phantom when possessed by Zelda's Spirit, though without the pink eyes.
Origin
Phantoms are a powerful enemy type that first appeared in Phantom Hourglass. In Phantom Hourglass they are shown to be nearly indestructible, and that its best to avoid them, rather than fight them. Being attacked by one results in being instantly knocked back to the beginning of the dungeon that specific Phantom is found in. Due to its strong armor, a Phantom can walk straight through spikes, fire, and even lava without damaging itself.
