The 3DS version is rater E10[edit]

It's already noted in the infobox. Berrenta (talk) 15:15, 19 July 2014 (EDT)

Why so much hate on the 3ds version[edit]

It is actually better than the wii u, with three new exclusive game modes. I think the wii u one will be an sverage game despite more initial promotion than the 3ds version. It's a thing though with cross console games. Exactly what happened with Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games. The wii one was more promoted, but the ds had more gameplay modes and all. Looks like the case here. Adamthedorr (talk) 11:37, 9 August 2014 (EDT)

This isn't an acceptable use of our talkpages, per SW:TALK. Use a forum for this line of discussion instead.

ESRB leak[edit]

Why is this wiki taking this leak seriously? It hasn't been confirmed yet. End of story. Take this leak with several truckloads of salt —Preceding unsigned comment added by Harro (talkcontribs) 09:06, 26 August 2014 (EDT)

First, your signature is invalid, as nowhere in it does it clearly indicate that you are Harro. Second, you've been ignoring the conversation that has been going on here. Nintendo will not be confirming a leak when they wanted to keep the content in it a secret to begin with, but we have strong reason to believe that the video leaks are indeed correct. If you want to argue for removal of the leaks or clearer indications that the leaks may have been "falsified" despite the evidence against that, go and argue it there. Circle Pad Pro[edit]

Nintendo has just announced that Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS would be compatible with the Circle Pad Pro and the New Nintendo 3DS's C-Stick.--Wolfy76700 (talk) 09:00, 29 August 2014 (EDT)

Screenshots[edit]

I've been screenshooting the latest Smash 3DS trailer if needed : https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0Bx-NYabPCE8VT3VCbjZqMEdRTzA&usp=sharing --Wolfy76700 (talk) 14:19, 29 August 2014 (EDT)

Your Google Drive is set to private, so we can't access it without your permission. Although if you could give us access, or upload some screenshots of the Omega Forms to SmashWiki yourself, that would help us out a lot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ToastUltimatum (talkcontribs) 13:43, August 29, 2014 (CDT)
Yeah, sorry, forgot to turn "Public" on... It is fixed now though.--Wolfy76700 (talk) 18:09, 29 August 2014 (EDT)

Starting Roster for Smash 3DS revealed[edit]

Here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-xBsgQ10Ew --Wolfy76700 (talk) 13:29, 6 September 2014 (EDT)

Too early to tell, especially since it's the roster of the latest demo. When it comes out next week in Japan, that's when we'll know the final starting roster. Berrenta (talk) 13:50, 6 September 2014 (EDT)
Seems odd that the third-party characters would be default. I think it's just like the ESRB demo. ...a new NuttaNutta's Mallo sig.pngis approaching... 14:48, 6 September 2014 (EDT)
Never mind, however I have here sore real information: Pictochat is confirmed as a returning stage (Bottom left) : http://youtu.be/hLYHN2bQtLo?t=20s And I know it may not be the place for speculation, but the stage icons further seem to confirm the ESRB leak, as they do seem to be exactly the same as the ones seen in the leaks.--Wolfy76700 (talk) 18:50, 6 September 2014 (EDT)

Demo[edit]

There's a demo for the game currently available at a mall somewhere in Tokyo. This demo has revealed some new information (most from the ESRB leak), including PictoChat returning as a stage and Alph from Pikmin 3 being four of Olimar's alternate costumes (in a similar manner to how Lucina was originally going to be a Marth alt - the announcer even calls Alph's name). Should all this new information be added to the pages, or should we just wait for the release of the game in 4 more days? Nintendocan (talk) 18:42, 7 September 2014 (EDT)

I say wait. We can wait 6 more days. Rtzxy Signature SmashBall.jpeg Smashing! 19:06, 7 September 2014 (EDT)
Wait, mostly because there's some mis-information going back and forth, Pictochat isn't returning according to the demo, but Pictochat 2 is a new stage. Laikue (talk|contribs) 23:13, 7 September 2014 (EDT)

Leaked info from Demo[edit]

Hey, someone on Tumblr compiled a lot of stuff from that demo, link is here-http://ssb4dojo.com/spoilers It confirms a lot of new characters and items~ Spoilers ahead

Not the demo, it's the full game, and everything there is already being mentioned on the pages. Laikue (talk|contribs) 06:19, 11 September 2014 (EDT)

Version history[edit]

Since the 1.0.1 update has been released, I think that there should be a changelog article or section. TorchicBlaziken (talk) 09:56, 14 September 2014 (EDT)

Yeah we're going to have to have a list somewhere of updates and what they did. I have a few ideas:
  1. Have a list of updates on the game pages.
  2. Have an article called something like "List of updates for SSB4", which would have one section per update and a list of changes in each. May or may not need two pages (one per game), not sure.
  3. Have one article per update, called something like "Update x.y.z for SSB4". The TF2 wiki does this, though mostly because their updates are complex and frequent.
For now we could keep it on this page just to get it started, but I'm leaning towards option 2. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Altruistic 10:22, 14 September 2014 (EDT)
I'd say option 2 for now but if updates get really complex then up it to 3, Guybrush20X6 (talk) 10:24, 14 September 2014 (EDT)
I agree with going with option 2 for now; a brief section linking to the page can be added on this article. Scr7Scr7 sig.png(talk · contribs) 10:26, 14 September 2014 (EDT)
I indeed agree with option 2. --Wolfy76700 (talk) 14:08, 14 September 2014 (EDT)
I like Option 2. I think that the infobox for the game should state the current version. I think the article should be called "version history" and the lists of regional version differences should be renamed to be consistent with this. Because later versions of earlier Smash Bros. games are actually updated versions of the game, released physically rather than as digital patches. And Melee actually has multiple NTSC versions. TorchicBlaziken (talk) 12:07, 20 September 2014 (EDT)

Don't know where else to point it out, but this should be of use. Miles (talk) 00:41, 15 September 2014 (EDT)

Seems useful, if someone can translate it. I think that we're all in consensus that we should go to option 2 (and possibly option 3, later on), so I'm thinking that we should make a page titled 'Version history of Super Smash Bros. 4,' or two pages for the separate versions if needed. Qwerty (talk) 00:42, 21 September 2014 (EDT)

I have already begun this page here. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Metroid 10:20, 21 September 2014 (EDT)

I have here a few screenshots from Pictochat 2 if anyone wants : https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0Bx-NYabPCE8VX052WWoyMkpRVDg&usp=sharing --Wolfy76700 (talk) 14:08, 14 September 2014 (EDT)

Glitch[edit]

I discovered a glitch on the magicant stage in this game. I was just wondering if this wiki could cover it with a page or a least a section on a page. I take full credit for discovering it and i also posted the youtube showcasing the glitch myself. http://youtu.be/u1uKJ2Jg9oA 124.148.229.64 10:08, 15 October 2014 (EDT)

Dixie Kong, Snake, Mewtwo, & Lucas Leak[edit]

Yeah. It's called Photoshop. In other words, it's fake. Rtzxy SmashSig.jpeg Smashing! 22:04, 16 October 2014 (EDT)
That is such a bad leak, I didn't even have to look at it for more than two seconds. Also, your sig must include your username, please change it. Laikue (talk|contribs) 22:05, 16 October 2014 (EDT)
All that I have to say is, "LOL". Dots (talk) Link OoT Dots.PNG The 80's 22:21, 16 October 2014 (EDT)
Fake. 8 reasons why:
  1. That's Snake's Brawl artwork
  2. That's Lucas's Brawl artwork
  3. That's Mewtwo's PM artwork
  4. That's Dixie's DKCTF artwork
  5. Why is Mewtwo not with the Pokemon?
  6. Why is Dixie not with the DK characters?
  7. Why is Lucas not next to Ness?
  8. We HAVE Lucas already. His moves have become Ness's customizable moves.

That doesn't belong on this page, it belongs on the Magicant/Final Cutter Page. Which you can edit. Laikue (talk|contribs) 13:23, 17 October 2014 (EDT)

More Glitches[edit]

Hey guys. I've discovered more glitches for smash bros. The link to the video with the glitches is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWr0fhAPHQA. i take full credit for discovering them. take what you will.

Hello? Toomai? Anyone? Answer please?
  1. Don't always expect a response.
  2. Sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  3. New posts go at the bottom of a page, not the top.
  4. Depending on how "notable" these glitches are, we may or may not add them to correct pages, but thank you for the video link.

Save Data Trivia[edit]

There actually is a way to delete save data, you just have to hold A,B,X,and Y after the Nintendo 3DS logo appears, and keep holding them until the game asks you to delete your save data. Zaphod (talk) 16:44, 16 March 2015 (EDT)

I can confirm this, and I will change the page accordingly. AidanzapunkSignaturesmall.PNGAidan the Aura Master 16:58, 16 March 2015 (EDT)

Unlockability?[edit]

Do we really need to denote the characters that are default in the Wii U version and unlockable in 3DS with the bold and italics? Can't we just show which characters are unlockable in 3DS? Why do we need the Wii U unlockability?Kenniky SMASHROSTERSMALL.png 20:28, 23 March 2015 (EDT)

The character table is stored as a template, to save code and so that any changes to it need only be made once. Unfortunately, that means we can't make page-specific tweaks like that. Zyrac (talk) 20:34, 23 March 2015 (EDT)

Why is the 3DS version Classic Mode consindered better than the Classic Mode from the Wii U version?[edit]

People say the the Classic Mode on the 3DS version is better than the one from the Wii U version. Why? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.127.38.51 (talkcontribs) 18:43, 21 June 2018 (EST)

This is not an acceptable use of a talk page. Please also have a good read of this. Thank you. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 19:30, 21 June 2018 (EDT)

Biggest Stage[edit]

What is the biggest stage in VS. mode in this game? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.127.38.51 (talkcontribs) 12:06, 15 August 2018

"first and currently only"[edit]

To avoid an edit war, this is in regards to the recent back and forth about the "first and currently only" phrasing on a couple trivia points. I'd say that the IP is in the right for removing that phrase because this page is "currently [the] only" page that uses it, so it isn't really needed. There isn't anything from preventing us from revisiting pages and updating them, I think we've all seen that happen whenever Ultimate got a new fighter. --CanvasK (talk) 17:46, October 9, 2021 (EDT)

Article rework[edit]

Some of the content in this article seems redundant, as it is already covered in the main Super Smash Bros. 4 article. Perhaps we could pair this article down to only talk about exclusive content with a disclaimer that any content not mentioned is shared with the Wii U version with a link to the main article. The Other Jared (talk) 22:00, October 22, 2023 (EDT)
