The space animal slayer is a well-known Jigglypuff combo in Super Smash Bros. Melee most often used against a low-damage Fox or Falco (i.e. the space animals). It is performed by using up throw, jumping, and then using Rest. At medium percentages, an up aerial can be interposed to ensure the Rest hits.

The combo essentially works because the space animals' high gravity and falling speed places them much lower than other characters after a low-damage up throw, low enough that Jigglypuff can jump into them and Rest before they get out of hitstun. While the target's initial damage must be low enough for Jigglypuff to get there in time, the combo can still score a clean KO depending on the stage and positioning, which puts a large swing on the match.

While generally inescapable, DI'ing the up throw can put the victim far enough away that the Rest is a phantom hit, though this is of course unreliable. Should the Rest connect then the victim should attempt to aim sideways rather than up, as being Star KO'd will allow Jigglypuff to wake up before they can respawn and make a punish attempt.

Sometimes the term "space animal slayer" is used more generally to refer to any combo or character that is effective against Fox and/or Falco.
