First (I mean, a lil' comment)

Hello, thanks for the edits for melee hell. And yea, the page is kinda weird..uhh kinda (a lot.) --LoS PPS KoRos (talk) 13:44, 21 January 2015 (EST)

Mewtwo's rewrite

Thanks a lot. You're one of the few people that really know how things should be done here. That rewrite was very good. And shoutouts to your account's longevity :] --BeepYouSignature.png BeepYou, a user with no grammar at all :v (talk) 01:50, 6 June 2016 (EDT)

I appreciate your praise, but I think more of it should be given to this guy. I only wrote it, he provided most of the input and also looked over my final revision before posting it. I don't even own Mewtwo in Smash 4, and I haven't played the game in any capacity for about half a year now.
That said, Mega does kinda suck. I mean, he couldn't even beat Hime in Suguri.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 21:04, 6 June 2016 (EDT)

teh feedback

What exactly do you mean by showcasing poor behavior of the guy known as Drilly Dilly? So he vandalized according to his block details, but from looking thru his edits, none of them were vandalism, so can you explain? 70.197.85.68 17:34, 28 July 2016 (EDT)

Look.

The rule of "SmashWiki is not censored" is a textual rule for content pages. Uploading NSFW personal images seems like it's beyond the scope of that rule. I'd appreciate it if you picked a SFW replacement, and I'll delete the visibility of the NSFW one. Miles (talk) 15:26, 31 July 2016 (EDT)

Now see, I uploaded that image under SW:PI, not SW:NOT. Per SmashWiki:Personal Images, images considered to be "obscene" can be deleted; the image, however, fails the Miller test, as it does not depict sexual conduct in any manner. Ergo, the image is not obscene.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 17:10, 31 July 2016 (EDT)
Don't be deliberately obtuse for the sake of it. This is a safe-for-work site except where using certain language for the sake of encyclopedic coverage is appropriate (e.g. quoting Bayonetta). You're allowed to have your own opinion of what qualifies as "obscene", but there's certain things that aren't gonna fly here. Miles (talk) 18:17, 31 July 2016 (EDT)
I am going to have to agree with Miles here. We should not accept nudity here, it makes us look unprofessional. Serpent SKSig.png King 18:18, 31 July 2016 (EDT)

This one was apparently a misclick, but I have to point out that this is now twice you've uploaded an image here that would qualify as NSFW by standard definitions. Make a point of keeping that kind of thing off this site. I don't want to get in your face about this, but come on. There's some things that should just be common sense. Miles (talk) 03:46, 13 August 2016 (EDT)

Yeah, I made a minor error and immediately corrected it when I realised what I did wrong. What more do you want? A picture of me prostrating myself for this mistake? I'm sorry I made this error, but I don't understand why you have to blow it completely out of proportion. Just deleting the initial upload would've been sufficient.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 18:36, 13 August 2016 (EDT)

Since you are a returning editor

I thought I should point out that we have a Discord now. Hope to see you there. Serpent SKSig.png King 23:34, 17 June 2017 (EDT)

I'm not too big on Discord for a number of reasons, but I'll consider it.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 22:03, 19 June 2017 (EDT)

License tags

The fairuse tag has since been deemed obsolete and we're no longer using it. Toomai has since made licenses such as {{license-screenshot}} to be used instead. Disaster Flare Disaster Flare signature image.png (talk) 13:20, 21 June 2017 (EDT)

Is Project M considered a "copyrighted video game" though? It's a mod that doesn't have copyright protection. John John3637881 Signature.png HUAH! 13:22, 21 June 2017 (EDT)
It's...a gray area, honestly. I don't think we have any tags that would properly fit PM. Disaster Flare Disaster Flare signature image.png (talk) 13:24, 21 June 2017 (EDT)
Frankly, you shouldn't be using PM to illustrate this anyways. It goes against standing policy of not including it in general purpose articles. Miles (talk) 13:25, 21 June 2017 (EDT)
DF: Aw shucks, you made me feel old all of a sudden. Been using fairuse for forever just because it was the one I got into the habit of using when I first edited SmashWiki. Either way, I'll try my best to get into the habit of using that new template, then.
John: As DF said, it's a grey area. I myself would assume fair use because while Project M is officially not copyrighted, the base game, Brawl, is, and I assumed some of its assets are still copyrighted by Nintendo. At least, that was my logic for fairuse.
Miles: I'm aware of Project M's standing on SmashWiki, and I initially planned on using images of Melee to demonstrate stage striking. However, I felt using Project M was acceptable in this case, as the mod itself comes with built-in stage striking tools that would have made images much "cleaner" than if I had manipulated images of Melee. Plus, given how PM is still a popular tournament game, I figured it would be acceptable to use it to demonstrate a tournament-centric concept.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 13:31, 21 June 2017 (EDT)
Using annotated Melee screenshots would still be preferable. Miles (talk) 13:32, 21 June 2017 (EDT)
We'll have to agree to disagree, then. Images with text or other graphics added to them post-capture seems unprofessional compared to actual images of a game in my view. I have no interest in pursuing my original Melee route, but if someone decides to replace my PM images with those from another game, in such a way that is rather clean and thorough, I'm not likely to complain.

Tier list talk page

I'm not sure what you were trying to say in diff's comments, but I did sense you were trying to make a point about my suggestion on a FAQs. Can you please clarify how is my suggestion and me moving the essay to it's correct spot are mutually exclusive? —S+ Tier (List) | Look what I've done!!! 02:38, 26 June 2017 (EDT)

Ultimately, it's hard to take any of your edits to the tier list page seriously when you're prancing around with a plainly obvious anti-tier bias. It's like if an unabashed 9/11 Truther keeps trying to open discussion on 9/11, dig it? Yeah, we all think different, but try to leave your bias at the door and try making talk page posts that don't lambaste the opposing side.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 14:29, 26 June 2017 (EDT)
Let's set aside my initial edit for now. How would you reword my suggestion so it doesn't have an "anti-tier bias" like you claim? —S+ Tier (List) | Look what I've done!!! 12:09, 27 June 2017 (EDT)
Cut out everything after "even create its own separate page?" and you might have a better shot of being taken seriously.
Also, let's be honest, your nickname doesn't exactly smack of neutrality, does it?
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 15:27, 27 June 2017 (EDT)
It's just a username, though.
And how does cutting out how lists are misused earn it neutrality? Are you sure you read the whole thing? —S+ Tier (List) | Look what I've done!!! 15:53, 27 June 2017 (EDT)
I tried giving a serious response to this, then my proxy cut out because lol
Anyways, I gave a serious response to this on the talk page for tier lists. Check it out.

Edit summaries

I'm getting a bit concerned about many of the edit summaries you are making as of late. Quite a few of them could be crossing the line of opinion, and because many of them are also written pretty aggressively, it could also spark problems with other users on this wiki and maybe attract vandals. Not to mention that the edit summaries make your edits look like vandalism themselves, diverting attention towards good faith edits when it really shouldn't, which can also be a problem. So uh... maybe tone it down a little bit, okie? Thanks :) Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the Internets go! :3 21:28, 27 June 2017 (EDT)

As outlined on my userpage, I put stupid comments and jokes that don't fully represent how I really feel in my edit summaries all the time, and if you jump back to 2011 or so, you'll see it's something I've done for forever. They're just stupid sentences, nothing more, nothing less. I can try to... "tone it down", but I can't guarantee I'll completely stop. Sometimes, you just have no choice but to call a spade a spade.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 21:38, 27 June 2017 (EDT)

spark problems with other users on this wiki
If they have a problem, they can ask them. Getting offended for someone else's sake is pointless.

"Oh lordie, I just saw an exposed ankle, but I mustn't lose control of my erotic desires!"
Ain't no one gonna be inspired to vandalize jack shit just because a punk like Crow gets sassy in his summaries.
make your edits look like vandalism themselves, hyperbole hyperbole exaggeration hyperbole
You just edited Crow's talk page. He's now distracted from his meaningful edits, which you haven't been able to reproduce at all. Hot damn man.
I can assure that the only people who would be distracted by edit summaries are 12 year old deviantart users who think that they're making wonderful animal OC's. Back in my day, the users who patrol the wiki never had anything better to do, and an added distraction from a user with no history of vandalism isn't going to suddenly turn the Wiki into a vandal haven. 74.82.35.43 21:40, 27 June 2017 (EDT)
I understand that you may disagree with Black Vulpine's assessment of me, but I feel that your rather rude, acerbic tone clouds your message. Please try to calm down and dictate more rationally, per SW:NPA.

About Palutena's dances

Since she's using her staff to assist her in performing those dances, they technically are pole dances, regardless of where her staff is positioned. This is evident by the fact that there are a number of pole dances that can be performed while not having one's legs being positioned around the pole during the dance.

And while pole dancing will pretty much always be viewed first and foremost as an erotic dance, in recent years, it has nevertheless been promoted as an acrobatic exercise and a recreational activity. It's even started to have competitions as well. Take from this what you will.

On a side note, thanks for the heads up regarding the "re-adding removed info = potential disruptive" tidbit. 173.171.36.66 21:20, 2 July 2017 (EDT)

What even is that article you just created? There's literally no way to click on it on the RC. Disaster Flare Disaster Flare signature image.png (talk) 15:35, 3 July 2017 (EDT)

Ohh, it's Facebook, but again, I can't see it at all. Why is that? Disaster Flare Disaster Flare signature image.png (talk) 15:36, 3 July 2017 (EDT)
Works fine for me, not sure what's wrong on your end.

Here's what I'm seeing. Disaster Flare Disaster Flare signature image.png (talk) 15:38, 3 July 2017 (EDT)
I know I'm not part of this conversation but... it works fine on my laptop with Google Chrome. I was even able to edit it just now. -- Her Majesty, Queen Junko, 15:39, 3 July 2017 (EDT)
I just figured it out. I have my adblocker set to auto-hide social media stuff, and I'm guessing it read "Facebook" and decided "Oh, I should hide this because that's a good idea". Turning it off fixed it. Disaster Flare Disaster Flare signature image.png (talk) 15:40, 3 July 2017 (EDT)
That seems like a remarkably inconvenient way to browse the Internet. But, carry on.

Your "how to admin" essay

Is terrific for the most part. I have one problem though, and that is a concern that your dig on Brian breaks NPA (no matter how true it may be). Could you possibly revise that bit? Serpent SKSig.png King 16:29, 3 July 2017 (EDT)

I intentionally used the word "plonker" because it's not a particularly biting word, imo. I have since reworded the essay, however, as to address this criticism, especially since Brian is now fading out of the consciousness of the Wiki.
I do appreciate you taking the time to read it, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 16:37, 3 July 2017 (EDT)
Thanks and not a problem. I actually have something similar though not as long and thought out as yours. Serpent SKSig.png King 16:39, 3 July 2017 (EDT)

PM National Characters

I was bored and saw your question, so I decided to look and see.

In 3.6, Diddy Kong, Snake, Sheik/Peach (Malachi plays both often so I don't know where to put that), Mr. Game & Watch, Donkey Kong, Captain Falcon, Wolf, Meta Knight, Wario, and Lucas have all won nationals.

In earlier versions, Roy, Fox, Ike, Bowser, Pit, Sonic, Mewtwo, and Jigglypuff/Mario (I have never seen VoDs from this event so I wouldn't know how much hbox played each character) have won nationals.

I feel like a list of characters that have made it into top 8 at a PM national would be even more interesting. Diamond444 (talk) 14:01, 9 July 2017 (EDT)

Huh, pretty interesting. I know PM generally has pretty good character diversity, but I didn't think it would be that good.
Also, ha ha, of course Ike, Roy, and Mewtwo would have won tournaments before 3.6.
Thanks for the info.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 14:08, 9 July 2017 (EDT)
No problem. Yeah, PM has great character diversity. Makes the game more interesting. Diamond444 (talk) 14:25, 9 July 2017 (EDT)
I can definitely say that Diamond is correct when it comes to all of these. In regards to Hungrybox, I watched the MELEE-FC10R Legacy VODs and he used mostly Jigglypuff to win. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 15:19, 9 July 2017 (EDT)

This is a slightly unrelated question which is why I'm not adding colons at the beginning but will this page be free to edit to anyone or just you? Either way I'd be happy to contribute to it for you. BSTIK (talk) 02:18, 11 July 2017 (EDT)

Go right on ahead, I put the {{draft}} tag on it for a reason.
