New FS

I added all the new character's FS. Now, I am going to make the pages for each of those final smashes. Should I put the name of some of the character's FS? Like G&W's Octopus. Is it really called that? Nevermind. When we are sure about names, just...just change the name of the FS pages. --Oxico 23:08, February 1, 2008 (EST)

All of Game and Watch's specials are named after the game they are based off of, so "Octopus" is a pretty safe bet. Though Dojo has gone into spoilers mode, so you can wait for an official name if you want. --Phred 23:18, February 1, 2008 (EST)

%

I added how much percentage some of the Final Smashes do, as well as I could. Just wanted to run that by you.--Oxico 10:43, December 15, 2007 (EST)

cleaning up

this page is in dire need of organization and categories. anyone willing to adopt it and do so? FyreNWater 03:59, August 9, 2007 (EDT)

Table

Okay, I added a table of all the characters and Final Smashes, but it seems to be missing an actual table, like I expected it to have. Anybody know how to fix this? Teamrocketspy621 11:20, August 9, 2007 (EDT)

Zero Suit Samus?

can somebody list a source that shows that Zero Suit Samus has a Final Smash? seems unbalanced to me. FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 22:35, October 15, 2007 (EDT)

Well, the new vids that came out from the Nintendo Summit event showed that there could be more than one Smash Ball, so if you think about it Zero Suit Samus will more than likely have a Final Smash to what it is is questionable.User:Solarblade - (Talk
that's know as "speculation". unless someone saw her using a second Final Smash, it's pure speculation. FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 02:35, October 16, 2007 (EDT)
"Zero Suit Samus's Final Smash is just getting her suit back and also radiating a lot of energy around her that will hurt you, but won't do significant damage." [1] Aeris 09:38, October 17, 2007 (EDT)
hmm, i don't know how reliable that source is. also, don't Samus' suit pieces fall off and become items? that means players can throw them off the stage. do they just instantly re-materialize? ugh, this is complicated. i say we wait until some video source or something from a bigger site is posted... FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 23:40, October 17, 2007 (EDT)

(I don't feel like having my eyes slide continually to the right--it just feels weird--so consider this a reply sans indentation.) Yes, the pieces of Samus' Varia Suit fall off and become items. Nate's demo shows Samus performing the Zero Laser, and the suit just falls apart in the most literal sense. Some of the pieces even fell off the stage on their own. My guess is that the pieces will rematerialize, but that last bit is speculation on my part. The rest, however, is confirmed in Nate's demo. Aeris 23:47, October 17, 2007 (EDT)

Relation to Standard Special Moves?

"It is notable that most Final Smashes are powerups of the standard special move. Examples are Mario's fireball becoming a big blast of fire, Pit's Palutena's Bow becoming a call for Palutena to send centurions who have their own bows, Samus's charge shot becoming a powerful laser, Kirby's swallow becoming a transformation of Kirby, Pikachu's weak Thunder Jolt becoming a powerful Volt Tackle and the list goes on."

In a very general sense of the word, yes. Pit's is a real stretch, though; Pikachu's Thunder Jolt is Special, while his Volt Tackle is Physical (in Pokémon terms). It should also be noted that Link, Fox (in a way), Bowser, DK, Yoshi, Peach, Meta Knight (from what we've seen), and Ivysaur have Final Smashes that differ greatly and/or have no real relation to their respective Standard Special Moves. No correlation = no wiki. Aeris 09:44, October 17, 2007 (EDT)

Unconfirmed Final Smashes

I've added Zamus', Ike's, and Meta Knight's, all under the name of "Unnamed", and linking to generic pages named "X's Final Smash". I see no reason why we shouldn't, as we have video proof that they exist. WarxePB 13:51, October 20, 2007 (EDT)

I'm going to add a YouTube video link that has all the Final Smashes, recorded by "bdcool187" Thormag

Standard Specials = Unusable?

This article mentions that the Standard Special becomes unusable when you have the Smash Ball. However, I read that you have to hold down the Special button for a time for the FS to activate, so the Standard Special could still be used with a button tap. Do we have any other information on this? RandomGuy42 07:28, October 28, 2007 (EDT)

I'm not sure how it works, but actually, I remember seeing characters in videos using their standard specials while glowing with the power of a smash ball. The Inker 23:04, February 1, 2008 (EST)
