*This is the first Smash Summit tournament where players can be eliminated by a Swiss pools format instead of the standard double-elimination format.
**As a direct result of this, since more singles sets were played overall, this is also the first Melee Smash Summit tournament to forgo having a Doubles tournament.
*This is the first Smash Summit where 18 players competed instead of 16.
*This is the first Summit with a Swiss Pools format where a player did not drop a game during the Pools stage, with {{Sm|Hungrybox}} going 15-0 in games (5-0 in sets) against the rest of his pool.
*Excluding forfeits and sandbagging, this is the first tournament that {{Sm|Leffen}} placed outside of Top 8 since {{Trn|GameTyrant Expo 2017}}.
*This is the third odd numbered Smash Summit in a row where Hungrybox has won.
