===2013===

In 2013, it was announced that the wiki would be turning into a French-language wiki. The main page and all its constituent templates were translated to suit. In addition, several of the links were replaced with links to either the [[Wombo Combo]] page or the related video.

===2014===

In 2014, several pranks were pulled by various users:

*The wiki's main skin was modified to resemble [http://blog.codinghorror.com/a-tribute-to-the-windows-31-hot-dog-stand-color-scheme/ the Hot Dog Stand skin of Windows 3.1], with garish red and yellow backgrounds with red, yellow, white, and black text. Earlier iterations surrounded links in a black background, but this was removed after usability complaints.

===2015===

In 2015, the wiki became SmashRiki in honor of [[Riki]], a character from ''Xenoblade Chronicles'' who appears as an [[Assist Trophy]] in ''SSB4''. The main page was changed to match Riki's speaking style, and the color scheme changed to Riki's colors.

*Like the year before, the NIWA News' "upcoming games" included several nonexistent games.

===2018===

The main page is rewritten to be in [[User:Toomai/Toomarian|Toomarian]], a reference to [[wikipedia:Darmok|a ''Star Trek'' episode]] involving a language (Tamarian) completely composed of memes and references.

===2019===

The main page is [[SmashWiki:April Fools'/Randolph Thespis Klauwd III|themed after Randall the Cloud]], the cloud featured on the [[Yoshi's Story]] stage in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'' and ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]''. The maintenance icons were replaced with a fanmade Pokémon named "Trollbat" (a mashup of the Pokémon {{pkmn|Golbat}} and the [https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/trollface Trollface]), created in tandem with the SmashWiki's Discord server being themed entirely around an emoji under the same name (and other troll-face emojis based on Kirby and Sonic being added). As with the previous year, several fake fighter pages were made separate from the main joke, including {{s|user|Jiashen C.}} making a fake fighter page for Waluigi, and {{s|user|Awesomelink234}} making another fake fighter page, this time for [[User:Awesomelink234/Jotaro (SSBU)|Jotaro Kujo]] from ''JoJo's Bizarre Adventure''.  

===2020===

The wiki was themed after [[Captain Falcon]] (formatted as '''''CAPTAIN DOUGLAS JAY FALCON'''''), with Captain Falcon being the featured article and all of the text on his page and on the main page capitalized. Several other widespread jokes were made:

*Like April Fools' jokes from previous years, several users have created fake fighter pages:

**{{s|User|Cookies and Creme}} created a fake fighter page for [[User:Cookies and Creme/SpongeBob (SSBU)|SpongeBob SquarePants]], who would be replacing the unnamed {{uv|ARMS}} character in ''Ultimate''.

**{{s|User|DracoRexKing}} created a fake fighter page for the [[User:DracoRexKing/Character concepts#AVGN|Angry Video Game Nerd]] as a free DLC character after [[Spring Man]].

**{{s|User|Thegameandwatch}} made a fake smash game called ''[[User:Thegameandwatch/Super Smash Bros. Switch|Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch]]'', a port of ''Smash 4''.

*Many other pages were pranked in various ways. For example, [[Sans]] and [[Knuckles the Echidna]] were pranked by many users; {{SSBU|Pokémon Trainer}} was pranked by {{s|User|Darthrai}} based on the infamous "[[bulbapedia:ROM hacks#Pokémon Vietnamese Crystal|Pokémon Vietnamese Crystal]]" bootleg; [[Protagonist (Persona 3)|the protagonist from ''Persona 3'']] was pranked by {{s|User|Aidanzapunk}} (in collaboration with {{s|User|Hinata}}) to be centered around the famous "Door-kun" meme; [[Dr. Mario]]'s page was pranked by {{s|User|Awesomelink234}} to have it be Dr. Amigo, a parody of Dr. Mario from a commercial for Dr. Amigo Family Clinic; [[Cloud]]'s page was pranked by {{s|User|OldLink5}} to have references to actual clouds; and pages relating to [[Eevee|one particular Spirit Battle]] were pranked by {{s|User|RickTommy}} to say that the battle in question retroactively affected [[Nintendo 64]]-era ''Mario'' spin-offs. The page for ''Melee'' {{SSBM|Captain Falcon}} was altered with references to {{Sm|Laudandus}}, notorious for his dislike of the character.

===2021===

The wiki was renamed to DededeWikiki, with the Main Page and [[King Dedede]]'s page rewritten to mirror King Dedede's personality and speech style from ''Kirby: Right Back At Ya!''.

**{{s|User|Thegameandwatch}} changed [[Sephiroth]]'s article to his sword [[User:Thegameandwatch/AFD 2021/Masamune|Masamune]].

**{{s|User|Darthrai}} changed {{SSBU|Mythra}}'s ''SSBU'' page to be written from the point of view of Chairman Bana, a story arc villain from her original game ''Xenoblade Chronicles 2''.

***In tandem with this, [[Special:PermaLink/1560815|a single edit]] was made to Steve's changelog by {{s|User|Aidanzapunk}}, which riffed off the famous "Removed Herobrine" gag from ''Minecraft''{{'}}s patch notes.

===2022===

The wiki was transformed by "AmDyCo", or "Amusing Dynamic Content", purported to be the next big thing for websites that no longer wished to be boring and static. Every letter on every page (aside from the edit box) had a 7.5% chance to have a random animation applied from 15 choices:

* A shadow appears behind the letter, then disappears.

* The letter toggles on and off as if on an old CRT.

* The letter fades into place and then fades upward.

* The letter fades in and out evenly.

* The letter rotates back and forth.

* The letter spins around vertically.

* The letter spins around horizontally.

* The letter rapidly shakes back and forth.

* The letter falls down the page and then reappears.

Like with 2021, users were required to submit their planned pranks to admins for approval beforehand, rather than being free to vandalize the wiki, to cut down on jokes that are low effort and in poor taste, as well as to make cleanup easier and more accountable.
