The 2023 SSBBRank is a list compiled by the Brawl Central community that ranks the world's top 20 Super Smash Bros. Brawl players in 2023, the first SSBBRank where the ranking period covered only one year. This was attributed to the increase in notable Brawl events: the rankings considered eleven events that took place that year, more than any other Brawl ranking since 2014.
Methodology[edit]
The tournament tier system for the SSBBRank featured a similar methodology to the LumiRank methodology. Each tournament is given a score based on the total number of entrants and each player's player point value, which is determined based on either their placement on power rankings (which also includes every past iteration of the SSBBRank) or their placement at an event, with higher-tiered events giving out more points to more players. Each tournament is also split between seven tiers, going from D to SS; only C-tiers and above were considered for the ranking. In order to qualify for the ranking, a player must reach a certain placement at one of the events ranked C-tier and above.
The rankings themselves were created through a panel of five players (ninja1167, albs, Ashley, streety, and ElvisNeverDied)
