This feels so different now than before. Ive been here for a long time when it used to not even have most attacks per character. Hmm probably me for over a year or 2. Thanks to everyone who has helped. Kudos to Woz and TSA, my favorite crew and my crew PPS. long live Smash Wiki, combined or not. KoRoBeNiKi

A little heads-upEdit

Edits like this one could be seen as vandalism or a personal attack on the smasher in question - I presume it was just teasing, but please try to be more encyclopedic when editing. Thanks, RAN1 01:13, December 12, 2009 (UTC)

rollbackEdit

Hey. Due to large amounts of ridiculousness, I have decided to remove your rollback rights. I personally refused to continue arguing due to the aforementioned ridiculousness, and since other users who also supported you chose not to post for a variety of stupid reasons I no longer felt giving you rollback was warranted. I am truly sorry; I still feel that rollback would not be wasted on you, and I hope you will try again in the future once people with bad reasoning will support you and those with good reasoning aren't too busy being terrible to defend you.

Best of luck,

Shadowcrest 20:01, February 2, 2010 (UTC)

Um, we might undo the undoing. I'm going to work on this. RAN is being an idiot, you're probably the best contributor on this whole damn website, and it's a shame to see someone who gums up the works with inanities that stink like Osama Bin Laden's buttcrack pull down someone who actually tries to improve this site. I might be part troll...scratch that, I might be mostly troll, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to let some twerp trample on someone who tries. I'm going to get on this. Semicolon (talk) 23:18, February 2, 2010 (UTC)

take twoEdit

I've restored your rollback, as the wiki seems to have stopped being stupid about it. Of course, be sure to familiarize yourself with the rollback policy.

Thanks,

Character matchups (SSB)Edit

Actually, the matchup chart we already had is completely identical to the one you posted (in terms of the actual matchups). It just doesn't look it because the the different character order. The only differences are:

  1. The one we already had is in the order of the tier list, like one would expect.
  2. The one we already had is bigger and easier to read.
  3. The one we already had is consistent with the SSBM and SSBB matchup tables.

So, unless you can give me a huge advantage of your version that I'm not seeing, I'll soon be putting the one we already had back. Toomai Glittershine   22:17, 31 October 2010 (EDT)

Ness (SSB)Edit

While Mr. Anon also responded on his talk page (as he should have), you said you want an explanation on your talk page. Well, here it is:

  • Explaining Ness' tier position in as much detail as you put in (especially the bits about different regions) is not necessary. One or two sentences will suffice. As things stand now, we don't go into the minutiae of tiers.
  • The idea of an "important notes before reading below" section is, to be frank, dumb. Splitting an article up in such a way is never necessary.
  • It was agreed a while ago that having an attributes section is better than having a pros/cons section.

Now, I'm not going to say I agree with your edit being simply undone. But you could have added the info you wanted to add without changing the structure of the article. Toomai Glittershine   18:59, 24 November 2010 (EST)

Welcome back!Edit

what's manliness tier? if it's the worst, then why do you put luigi in both manliness and s rank?Lucas-IV- Paper Tosser  10:43, 24 May 2011 (EDT)

Well, Luigi is my best character (along with Marth and Falco which is why they are in S)...but look at Luigi otherwise. Look at his other games, it's either him or Link for least. --LoS PPS KoRos (talk) 19:46, 24 May 2011 (EDT)

Hey KoRoEdit

Instead of putting "This stage is banned in Japan." on every stage article other than Dream Land, can you say why each stage is banned? It seems odd that only Dream Land isn't banned, and I think people would be interested to know why. PenguinofDeath 11:53, 2 November 2011 (EDT)

Welcome backEdit

Hey Koro. Nice to see you back to editing. Now that PoD is also back, I guess we can start improving the SSB64 articles a lot in general, to make them look more like their counterparts in the other games. Want to meet with me on IRC to discuss some ideas? Mr. Anon talk 20:44, 2 November 2011 (EDT)

Multiple editsEdit

Just a note, you should try and use the preview button when making large amounts of contributions to a page, and try to limit the total number of edits. This way, recent changes isn't filled up with as many changes. Mr. Anon talk 11:52, 9 September 2012 (EDT)

Pay attention to how the edits were made. They weren't from lack of preview button, but from editing section by section. Omega Tyrant   12:04, 9 September 2012 (EDT)

But there is a talk page for the M2K page. We've been using it for a while. Should check on that. Here's a link. Yah. MegaTron1XD  00:15, 24 June 2014 (EDT)

I realize that there is a section for it but the majority of the stuff I see there is flaming to be honest. It can be mentioned that type of stuff happened but honestly, in the last year, or maybe 2 years, he has changed dramatically.
I don't mind my stuff being redacted, just it should be edited so it is not nearly as hateful. Either this or it should note on top that his issues have in many ways been null as of early 2013.
Sorry forgot to sign

We've been working on making the Japan section sound less hateful for...a day or two by now. Give it a bit more time to undergo a better rework. MegaTron1XD  00:22, 24 June 2014 (EDT)
Sounds like a plan. But honestly, it should be pretty small. LoS PPS KoRos (talk) 00:26, 24 June 2014 (EDT)
As a future note, keep talk page conversations on the same page. I don't know how other Wikis do it, but here at Smash Wiki, we prefer having the convos on the same page so that we can just read the entire thing in one sitting, rather than jump back and forth. Japanese tier listEdit

I was actually wondering what the Japanese SSB64 tier list looks like? Dots (talk)   The User 18:07, 6 March 2015 (EST)

It's this: http://www.ssbwiki.com/Character_matchups_%28DSB%29 or SSB64_Japanese_matchup_chart.png for their version. They use the matchup list as their tier list (basically) --LoS PPS KoRos (talk) 02:11, 7 March 2015 (EST)
Lol, Pikachu is much better than everyone else in this version. So basically matchups determine the tier list? Dots (talk)   The Lamp 08:26, 7 March 2015 (EST)
Sorry haven't been on in a bit. In this case, yeah. It's more also that they never really decided to do one, so they use this as their tier list. I kind of prefer this also. Also, their top player is a Samus main so there is some interesting things here. Basically people use almost all characters (a whole lot of Falcon, Kirby, Pikachu, Yoshi, Fox, Mario a bit less of Link, Ness, Jiggs, and basically no one uses Luigi and less than no one uses DK. --LoS PPS KoRos (talk) 17:10, 8 March 2015 (EDT)

Ness' SSB64 hitboxesEdit

What version of the game are you basing your recent edits on? My SSB64 hitbox spreadsheet (based on NTSC-U) says that Ness' dash attack deals either 12 or 9 damage, his f-tilt does 11/10/9 based on angling, and both are the Sakurai angle (therefore not a semi-spike), all of which conflict with what you've added lately. Toomai Glittershine   The Emissary 13:21, 25 March 2015 (EDT)

....Oh dang it, I had an old version of the Hitbox chat, I just checked. I expected myself to have the most recent version but nope, this is one from 2010 it seems and I never updated it. Sorry. --PPS KoRo, King of Smash 64 Knowledge, and bad grammar....and bad puns (talk) 13:23, 25 March 2015 (EDT)

Rate this tier listEdit

I made a Smash 64 tier list and I was wondering if it is accurate or not. This list is just in my opinion. Dots (talk)   The Unexpected 13:55, 28 March 2015 (EDT)

I like the top 5/6/7 a lot. There have been many arguments recently putting Yoshi that much higher. Arguments regarding Falcon are a bit harder though due to LD/TR3G-Fox putting in so much work (showing that Fox is quite good on DL) and Boom switching off Falcon then also. Otherwise, I personally have some small bias with the bottom/lower tier, mostly Link being a bit too high for Dreamland.

Also, Pikachu isn't that much better than Kirby to warrant a completely different tier. Pika is no where near Meta/Diddy in terms of matchups. I also think B-tier is too heavy. Maybe if it was still this order (sorry for the bad wiki formatting)

-S-

  1. Pikachu
  2. Kirby

-A-

  1. Captain Falcon
  2. Fox
  3. Yoshi
  4. Mario

-B-

  1. Jigglypuff
  2. Donkey Kong
  3. Link

-C-

  1. Ness
  2. Luigi
  3. Samus

Lowercase titleEdit

It looks like you're working on a number of pages for Japanese smashers whose tags start with a lower-case letter in English. In situations like that, you can use {{lowercase}} rather than making an extra note, as is done on pages like amiibo or Smasher:nealdt. Miles (talk) 12:32, 1 June 2015 (EDT)

I'm currently making ones for a lot of other smashers from Japan who are lowercase, do I put it down as {{lowercase}} on the top of the page or where? --PPS KoRo, King of Smash 64 Knowledge, and bad grammar....and bad puns (talk) 12:36, 1 June 2015 (EDT)
Yeah, anywhere works. Easiest to put it at the top for clarity, though. Miles (talk) 12:40, 1 June 2015 (EDT)
Got it, thanks (Oh these names and all of their lowercase, outside of Kysk who is soon to be added and a few others--PPS KoRo, King of Smash 64 Knowledge, and bad grammar....and bad puns (talk) 12:41, 1 June 2015 (EDT)

Your smasher pageEdit

I'm okay with the changes you made for the most part, but there's a couple things I'd like to adress:

  • Why refer to SmashWiki as ssbwiki (all lowercase)?
    • Building on that, the slash kind of makes the page look more like notes.
  • You might want to put the Project M online controller sentence in a trivia section, maybe with the Smash 4 point. They just kind of feel a bit minor compared to the rest of the page.

Other than that, the page looks great! Nyargleblargle (Talk) 11:08, 3 June 2015 (EDT)

I would like to put it under trivia, but this site has something against trivia. I forgot about changing it to the proper wiki. I think it is also since when I see SmashWiki, I think of the inactive SuperSmashBrosWiki. --PPS KoRo, King of Smash 64 Knowledge, and bad grammar....and bad puns (talk) 11:11, 3 June 2015 (EDT)
It shouldn't be too much of a problem. Other smasher pages are allowed to have them, so why not yours? Thanks for the prompt response. Nyargleblargle (Talk) 11:14, 3 June 2015 (EDT)
Hi, as Nyargle mentioned back in the first part, I think ssbwiki could be changed to SmashWiki, as that is the official name. If both of you are okay with that, go ahead and do it!  Luke Talk::: 11:31, 3 June 2015 (EDT)

Question about Smasherx74Edit

Since you're the resident longtime Smash 64 expert, I would like to ask you about this guy. How much contribution has he actually done to Project 64K, and is it overall notable to the Smash 64 scene? Omega Tyrant   11:35, 13 November 2015 (EST) Wasn't expecting this to be here when I came back. The article itself is actually very accurate. He's made a lot of contributions to Project 64K, more specifically helping to run the server and being an admin. He was/is a member for a very long time. It sounds like a vanity article but in all honesty it's a 64 article.

He's one of the earliest smash 64 Kailera players. I'd uhh keep the article loll. Whoops, haven't been here in a while. --PPS KoRo, King of Smash 64 Knowledge, and bad grammar....and bad puns (talk) 16:43, 18 November 2015 (EST)

Smash 64Edit

Since you are the only one of the few pro Smash 64 players around here and i only watched it a couple of times (because of Boom), what is your opinion on who the best Smash 64 player is?  Poultry (talk) the Pumpkin Pie 09:46, 21 March 2016 (EDT)

From uhh closest to furthest away, in terms of a general short order, wario/Jousuke, Boom, Fukuruou (though he has never come the US, the fact that he has stayed even/almost won vs. wario is shocking and scary,) KeroKeroppi, Isai, wangera. I guess. The Genesis 3 results really shows who was playing well though some matchups were much better for certain people (like LD or someone always struggling vs. certain people.

USA: KeroKeroppi (Pikachu, Falcon,) Tacos (Yoshi, Kirby,) LD (Fox,) Wizzrobe (Yoshi,) Fireblaster (Yoshi, Mario,) and Isai (IDK, lol) somewhere in there. KeroKeroppi is the definite best in the USA, at least if Isai keeps on being rusty though Kero might just plain be better than Isai as well otherwise. Tacos is the most likely 3rd. If LD didn't john/practiced enough, I would put him above Wizzy.

Canada: SuperBoomFan (Falcon/Pika/random) The Z (Pikachu, Fox, Falcon,) Revan (Kirby,) YBOMBB (Jiggles,) (that order, period, shoutouts to The Z for going from ridiculously technical to just plain amazing)

Mexico: Mariguas (Pikachu, Falcon) Dexter (Pikachu)/Jaime-HR (Falcon, Pika, Kirby, Samus) (unsure of order, I'd say probably this one as per the most recent results)

Japan: wario (Pikachu)/Jousuke (Samus, everyone,), Fukurou (Kirby,) Moyashi (Kirby,) wangera (Jigglypuff. The rest outside of this are somewhat unknown and somewhat variant due to their single elim events though I usually see some combination of MEGU (Pika,) Bonobono (Yoshi,) MAHA (Pikachu,) and an occasional Ruoka Dancho (Falcon/)Sekerei (Link.) Overall, Japan is slightly stronger than North America with by far the best Kirby mains in the world (sorry Revan,) though they probably overall have worse Pikachus outside of wario and worse Falcons.

Brazil: Banze (Pika,) Kort (Link, Falcon, everyone,) Rith (Pikachu, Falcon,) CabeLo (Fox) (in some order after the definitive Banze and Kort)

Peru: Alvin (Falcon, as per Dreamland switch there, Fox) Gerson (Pikachu,) (unsure of otherwise, haven't seen an event recently)

Page deletionEdit

Unfortunately, you cannot have a page deleted simply because you do not like it. It can be requested that personal information (name, location etc) be removed, but not the article itself. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 12:55, 1 August 2018 (EDT)

Well SmashWiki is not commons, so the image could be deleted, but removing an image simply because someone doesn't want it there is censorship, and the wiki is not censored. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 14:25, 1 August 2018 (EDT)
