Vandals

Please list the names/IP's of potential vandals here. Also, if possible, tell me the page(s) they vandalized so that I can verify the claim and assess the damage. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 02:20, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

5 archives. Wow. By the way, JtM put a Cleanup Tag on our article, saying there was way too much stuff. Shade cleaned it up for us, removing a lot of the stuff. Now that it's cleaned up, can I remove the tag? MarioGalaxy {talk} 23:03, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

It would be a lot of work, but...

...should we make a separate stub template for each universe? Right now we have two, Stub and Smasher-stub. Should this happen, or is it not worth the trouble? Miles (talk - contribs) 23:18, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

I think we should be able to say what info needs to added to the stub, kinda like how cleanup works. It would good for clarification if nothing else. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 23:21, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Seems like a good idea to me. MarioGalaxy {talk} 23:22, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Not what I meant originally. I like your idea in theory, but that's the difference between cleanup and stub: Cleanup targets one or two problems, but stub means the whole thing is too short. It would just clutter it up. Miles (talk - contribs) 23:31, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

About BNK

Could you maybe remove BNK's ban? Or at least reduce it. I know you probably won't want to, but hear me out: BNK's not that bad of a guy. You see, I talk with him every day on my Proboards, and he's very friendly once you get to know him. Sure, he may lash out at his enemies, but we all have our faults. It's all a part of human nature. The man is a Christian, and a very good friend (hope that didn't religiously offend you). I'll try and make him a better person in preparation for his return. I promise you, he will be a better person by the time you get this message. Please take this request into consideration, as he is a very good contributor to the wiki. Thank you. - GalaxiaD Talk 00:39, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Basically all of your arguments don't matter or are outweighed, honestly :/
Though 3 months is a long time. --Shadowcrest 00:53, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Three months would be a long time if this wasn't the fourth time he has been banned for these same things. This time, he went so far as to not only use the wiki, but also find users outside of wikia to continue harassing them. I can't stop him from being an idiot, but I can stop him from doing it here. Him being you friend is wholly irrelevant. He is disruptive to this wiki and its users. I also don't care if this is "just who he is." I agree with that statement; that's why I blocked him. Next, his religion is completely irrelevant here. What is relevant is his behaviour. I don't care what faith he belongs to (if any) or how he practices it. All I care about is the fact that all he does on this wiki is cause strife. This is one of the very few places in the world where you are judged solely on your actions. Users have no way of knowing personal information about you unless you choose to divulge it. All we have to go on is what and how the person has contributed. In the case of BNK, I made a ruling on this irrespective of personal information. He is blocked for the next three months. If, upon his return, he continues this behaviour, he will be blocked forever. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 03:31, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

The block

First of all, thanks for shortening BNK's block, although I still doubt he deserved it at all.

Second, in case you missed it, I was blocked a third time in relation to BNK's block. I will lose a ton of faith in the administration here if it happens if fourth time. I'm usually a cheerful guy (the arguments are just 4 fun), but my "blocks" are making me think. We (BNK and I) live on opposite ends of the USA, so I shouldn't even be affected at all. He's been blocked before, and I've never been affected by them. If I'm going to regain trust in the administration, I'd like to know why I keep getting blocked. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 06:30, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

I don't know why you keep getting blocked. It's not something I have control over in most cases. When a user is blocked, the script is set up to hit the IPs used by that user. If what you are saying is true, I can't understand why you are being auto-blocked by his blocks. The only explanations I have is that one of your computers is a zombie of the other, or one of you is on a variable IP address. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 06:52, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
I only use one computer, and it's stationary, so that can't be it. I probably shouldn't be mad at you, as human mistakes happen, and all of us (even those who claim to be experts) are still learning. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 07:08, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
The only thing they can do to avoid it is not use auto-block, and I know quite well how hard changing an entire community is. Your anger is completely misplaced, and it doesn't even seem you know why you were blocked before flaming C.Hawk :/ --Shadowcrest 15:18, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
In case you haven't heard about it, BNK was blocked again, and for some reason, my P address is affected by it. I did nothing wrong, and all of the users know that. I wasn't flaming, you'd be a little angry too if you keep getting blocked for another guy's block because of IP address stuff. Last of all, please mind your own business. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 23:23, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Cheezperson, don't bring the last part up as a reason. Shadowcrest will eventually say something like, "it's a wiki, and a user is obligated to join in on a conversation in order to solve problems on the wiki". That's just a generalization of what Shadowcrest thinks and says. MarioGalaxy {talk} 23:25, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Firstly, I don't need the "I did nothing wrong, you'd be frustrated too" etc., because I am well aware Blue Ninjakoopa was blocked again, having commented on the shortening of his ban; I well aware of how auto-block works, having used it regularly; and I already expressed my empathy to you, not my sympathy. Which means that I know what's happening because it's happened to me. User_talk:Shadowcrest#auto-block for reference. Don't pretend that I'm an idiot without a clue, please.
Now I'm pretty much convinced neither of you get wikis at all. Yes, MarioGalaxy, I would have said something like that (although obligated wasn't the right word, able is more accurate). Why? Because it's the basic principle of wikis, which neither of you seem to understand. I will say for the third time: Wikis exist so that everyone can contribute to virtually everything. Also for the third time: If you want me to stay out of "your business", take it off wiki. By the very nature of the fact that you posted it on a wiki, it is not "your business", but I'm too lazy to argue the point atm.
Additionally Cheez, the fact that you are ignoring your own advice to me is quite lulz. You are accusing C.Hawk of targetting you with a ban, which is nowhere close to the truth, and then say you will lose trust in him if it happens again, despite there being no evidence he is targetting you and despite your incorrect belief. I suggest you assume good faith in other users more often. --Shadowcrest 00:35, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
I'm not saying CH targeted me for a ban (I'm pretty sure he didn't), I was just wondering if he knew why it was targeting me even after I as unblocked twice. I don't know how it would work.
Also, just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it. For the past week or so, after most of everything I've posted here, you jump in and make unnecessary and snide remarks. I will take my own advice and assume good faith, and therefore consider out loud that you are doing what you are doing out of good faith, but don't think for a second that I appreciate it. I'm sorry for sounding derogatory (and pointing out the obvious), but you're acting like a wannabe sysop. If you want to become one, request for it, and accept the (helpful) criticism people give you! Now don't say that I don't accept criticism, because the reason why I question criticizers is because I like to know why the feel the way they do, and how I can better myself.
My question to you is why you feel the way you do about non-sysops. I will not accept "I treat sysops and regular users the same way as an answer," as I know that isn't true. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 01:16, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
I don't feel any differently about sysops and nonsysops. What I do feel difference towards is the attitude, knowledge, and actions of the people who get wikis and people that don't. I have tried very hard to get people to understand, and after having multiple arguments of biting my tongue, being polite and being ignored, I dropped it and started being a hardass. I know the above message was more inflammatory than I wanted, and I am sincerely sorry for it. But if it's the only way I can get people to listen, then so be it (as long as it's within the bounds of good taste, though).
"I'm not saying CH targeted me for a ban (I'm pretty sure he didn't), I was just wondering if he knew why it was targeting me even after I as unblocked twice." I guess you implied something way different than what you said, then. After all, we're all human; we make mistakes. You see, since you were threatening to lose faith in the admins if an automated mechanism blocks you again, I took it as you blaming C.Hawk for something he really has nothing to do with; I didn't see it as a question until just now.
"Also, just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it." And...why not? If I've got something important to say, I'm probably going to say it.
"For the past week or so, after most of everything I've posted here, you jump in and make unnecessary and snide remarks." Well, if I had something genuine to say it wasn't an unnecessary comment, but I apologize if I have accidentally slighted you.
"...you're acting like a wannabe sysop. If you want to become one, request for it..." I plan to. Just not yet.
"...and accept the (helpful) criticism people give you!" But you see, that's just it. If I recieved criticism that would truly improve the way I contribute (and be careful not to fall into the trap of thinking carebears are the ideal), then I would gladly do my best to improve. In fact, I just had a serious discussion regarding my behavior and how I've tried to improve myself, and how I've reached and at the same time failed to reach my self imposed goal. This very post obtains and fails to hit my goal. It involved the two polls on my userpage, which I wish people would vote it; I requested the feedback for a reason.
In conclusion: I both understand and fail to understand why you do what you do and how you think about things. I'm only trying to help you guys improve yourselves; I'm not trying to troll, flame, like and such as. I realize I come off as an ass sometimes (a lot, depending -.- ), but- at least regarding smashwiki, I've decided that it's better to be harsh and understood and polite and ignored, since at least the former accomplishes something. I haven't meant to slight anyone, but it is occasionally a side effect of my posting... and I'm sorry. :/ --Shadowcrest 02:21, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

You do know I was telling Cheez to not bring up that last reason, right? I told him you'd say something like that because you would. I don't really care if I don't understand, you can go ahead and join a conversation, it doesn't mean anything to me. Sure, it's the principle, but that's not my point. All I'm saying is Cheez shouldn't bring up that last part. Go ahead and talk to him and C. Hawk, it doesn't bother me. MarioGalaxy {talk} 01:00, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

I realize that. However, the way I interpreted your comment is that I was trolling and like and such as by repeatedly trying to get users to understand the point of a wiki. So, I apologize for any unnecessary hostility towards you. :] --Shadowcrest 02:21, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Eh, don't worry about it. I am in a bad mood right now, but that's because I'm doing a take-home history test right now. I can't talk much at the moment. MarioGalaxy {talk} 03:18, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Ruling: One, I'm not going to stop using auto-blocks , they prevent users from just siging out and or using sockpupets to ontinue their missdeeds. If you actauly fell like this is wrong, take it up with wikia staff. Second, I'm not sure why your computer keeps getting caught. As I have no access to you or BKK's IP addres, I can't determine what is going on. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 05:18, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

FA

I had a few FA related questions/comments.

  • First off, I wrote a FA snippet about Tabuu, which I would love to see on the Main Page.
  • Second, do you think I should write a few FA snippets ahead of time and mark the appropriate articles as featured?
  • And if yes, which ones would you want me to write about? I'd been thinking of some, but I'm interested in your opinions. Miles (talk - contribs) 03:46, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

I thought you stayed outta my business! WHY DID YOU PROTECT THE SUGGESTIONS PAGE!

I thought it was resolved ages ago that
  1. SW:NPA is a policy, not a suggestion
  2. You can't own a page
But here we are. The suggestions page was being used to vote for characters and not to decide possible smash arena battles, and was an unnecessary burden on the innocent RC. --Shadowcrest 06:02, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
OMG, shut the fuck up with your fucking wiki rules! HE HAS NO RIGHT TO SECURE THAT PAGE! and what you talking about everyone is voting? let me put these words in BIG texts for you,

I'm sorry Shadowcrest, I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the fucking person who fucking screw me over! Squallinoa 08 (talk) 06:07, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Stop with this crap on my talk page. That Forum was not being used to vote on what they wanted to see, but to be used as a secondary Smash Arena. It has completely flooded the recent changes and has no justification on this wiki. Also, you are not the only one who knows how to run that page. And you own nothing on this wiki, nor do I. Had you taken the time to look, I only secured it for two days. This will, I hope, get a cool down and get it back to what it was intended for. Of course, it don't look so good for you being able to run it... Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 06:14, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
You don't know how to run that page either! Did you see an example of Smash Arena from FF wiki and Zeldapedia. In fact, why can they make their fighting page watever into a wiki project page, and mines in stuck in the frickin forums? Squallinoa 08 (talk) 06:17, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Trust me, that's not hard to run. As for the second point, this community has different standards. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 06:20, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
If thats the case, why can't you let me run it the way I want it?! Squallinoa 08 (talk) 06:22, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
See above, point two. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 06:23, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
(sigh) Whats the point? Do you even like the idea?? Squallinoa 08 (talk) 06:26, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
No, but I am content to let it remain in the forums. Just not with the double forum. Like I said, the forum was being used as a surrogate for the Smash Arena. I'm not going to fight everyone who wants the arena, but I don't like seeing the Suggestions forum turning into nothing more than "ZZOMG ZLEDA ES BTR THN SHIEK" Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 06:31, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
I guess the users didn't follow the rules. Basically if they love the idea, they are suppose to put their username under "support" or "reject" if they hate it. Then they are suppose to give their reason why they like it or not. And really, they are giving their opinions, they are not fighting for who they think is better. Squallinoa 08 (talk) 06:37, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Squall, I hope you realize that there's 3 pages for the suggestions right now, and about 15 queued matches. That's about 4 months of battles. Are you sure you can handle that? Cheezperson {talk}stuff 06:39, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Don't worry, I'll think of something. Squallinoa 08 (talk) 06:41, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
That's why I recommend using <poll></poll>. That will prevent people from using it the wrong way, stop the RC flooding, and all the general problems. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 06:44, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

I don't like using polls. If they don't do it in Final Fantasy DNC's, Zeldapedia's Temple of Courage, and Kirby's Star Arena, then I absolutely won't do it here. Besides, using the polls will make the page boring, and plus I run the page. If you run the page, you can do the poll, but I'm not doing it! Squallinoa 08 (talk) 06:46, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Even so, I'd suggest YOU (squall) make it clear how things are to be run on the page. If you don't want the sysops to take control of the page, then show some leadership and manage the posters. You can do it, just make sure they know the rules. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 06:51, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Alright. I will only except fights I want to see in the arena. However, if the users love it, I will queued it. Squallinoa 08 (talk) 06:55, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
It's up to you, but I'd make a limit to how many posts to be put up in a certain period of time. I'd also make sure that the users are following your established rules, as that's what set CH off (at least I think so). BTW, do you know who made the Squallinoa canceling page? I'm sick of being treated like an unexperience wiki user. I know what I'm fucking doin! I know how to operate that page because I've used examples from the other sites! SO WHY DO HE FUCKING TRUST ME?!!!!! This wiki must be the most boringest wiki EVER! Final Fantasy wiki, Zeldapedia, Kingdom Hearts wiki, and all the other wikis in the world are more fun this piece of crappy wiki. You know why? Because all those wikis have one thing in common; THEY DON'T WANNA BE JUST A BORING ENCYCLOPEDIA, BUT A FUN SITE FOR EVERYONE!!!!!! maybe you should learn the very essence of fun next time! Squallinoa 08 (talk) 06:13, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
If I may, I will make a few points.
  • 1.No it's not. It's supposed to be a place for people to learn about Super Smash Bros., not a place for the users to go insane and create 5 forums for the same thing.
  • 2. As Clarinet Hawk said, this is a different wiki. We have different standards, so if you don't like it, go to one of your other wikis, instead of flaming an admin who did the right thing.
  • 3. I'm pretty sure the admins are kind of pissed off at the other wikis too. I don't think they want it to be fun, just informational.
I hope I've made my points clear.O, Mighty Smoreking 13:53, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Problems

Listen, I don't really think the Wiki has recently been that - er - protected. This means to all sysops, but because you're the most active, I'm blaming you the most. In the list of the articles which need speedy deletion, there have been many useless pages and stuff, and they still haven't been deleted, even when the sysops were active. And banning users. I understand the need of banning User:Squallinoa_08, but when the creator of Squalinoa_canecling is still not blocked or warned and the uploader of several Rick astley images hasn't been stopped, there's a problem. I know people should have notified you about these vandals, but there were very open chances (for example, you deleted Squalinoa canecling but never blocked the user, who should have been blocked for spam and vandalism - instead, you called it funny). Is there something I'm missing here? METEORITE (t)

I agree with Meteorite on almost everything here except for putting all the blame on CH. We should be grateful about his activity. However, he IS right in everything else. Have you seen the speedy delete pages yet? It's crazy! We need to elect some new sysops, and fast. I don't like the direction this wiki is going. To Meteorite: your best option right now is to support more people on the RfA page. Hooray for self-advertising! Cheezperson {talk}stuff 22:08, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
I don't think anyone is to blame here. We need to let Squallinoa and CH come to an agreement on the Smash Arena that they both can agree on. This way none of this can happen again. But I will agree with Cheez and Meteorite that the articles tat need speedy deletion have to be looked, I also agree that we need to get some new sysops. PikabroPIKACHU! 22:42, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
What about some blocks on the users who made those joke articles? I hate to say this, but Smash Arena's not gonna last too long. Squall's savior was actually his own sockpuppet, and that justifies a block. There's not gonna be any agreement. Without Squall, there's no one to run the SA the way it's supposed to run (I'm not doing it). Well, it was fun for a few weeks. Squall, if you're reading this, I'm glad to have met you, and I encourage you to become an active contributor to our wiki once you come back. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 23:26, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
We need to have it like the way Zeldapedia handles it. I really enjoy their Temple of Courage, and that we need to base SA off their rules. They now have it as a very successful project on Zeldapedia, and that it would function a bit better for us if we decide to have SA. It's either ax the entire project or revise it. We should keep it though (my opinion) Friedbeef1 Screech 23:30, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Guys, aren't you overdoing it? You went from Speedy Delete candidates to Smash Arena. That forum hasn't been updated in a while, and quite frankly, it's badly organized. And C. Hawk, judging but what you told Uber..-Well you know. So, what's going on with the autoblock? MarioGalaxy {talk} 23:32, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
For the Suggestions page? It's protected for two days. Friedbeef1 Screech 23:37, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Ok, as far as the SD pages, I was out taking care of somethings when all that happened. If I seem to be on and not taking care of things, then I probably just am checking my talk page and taking care of some huge issues. As for the blocks, it's standard practice not to block an IP just for a single joke, vandalism, troll, etc. I can go into greater detail as to this if you want me to. As for the arena, I don't know exactly how the other wikis handle things. All I know is that the way it was being handled here went against standards on this wiki. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 00:26, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

I don't have a problem with why/when you block IPs, because you guys get it done eventually. I'm just asking what's wrong with autoblock. First Cheezperson gets caught in an autoblock 3 times in the past several days, and then earlier today I get caught in one. Like I said, Uber wrote "server glitch". What does he mean? MarioGalaxy {talk} 00:30, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Please explain the "not to block an IP for a single joke, vandalism, troll, etc." for me. I honestly don't get that, and I should as a sysop-hopeful. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 00:38, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
As far as the autoblocks, that's nothing I can do myself. It's written in the coding that when a block is issued on a user, all users using that or very similar IPs are also blocked to prevent sockpuppeting. This is not going to change. As long as people notify me about the autoblocks, we'll take care of it. You can go ahead and message my central wikia talk page as well. As for why we don't block IPs for one offense, it is simple. These are often public computers. If we were to block the IP, we have no idea how many legitimate uses we are also blocking. We protect the more targeted pages so that only auto-confirmed users can edit them, thereby preventing abuse. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 01:24, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Eh, OK. I just want to know what's wrong with the autoblock. Whether or not we stop using it doesn't matter to me. MarioGalaxy {talk} 01:27, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I get it now, but I still don't like it. I doubt the way autoblock works can be changed, so I guess we'll just have to live with it. Oh wait, couldn't you just unblock the trusted users who get blocked? Cheezperson {talk}stuff 01:32, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
He won't know which users are blocked unless we edit our talk pages (for instance, I asked Charitwo on Central Wikia, who asked Uberfuzzy to help me, which he did). Voila, I am unblocked. MarioGalaxy {talk} 01:35, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Here's how Zeldapedia does its Temple of Courage, I really like its format. These are rules on the Suggestions page. I disagree with archiving the page after a fight though... Friedbeef1 Screech 00:32, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

  • No more than eight suggestions per week.

  • No talk templates
  • Sign your suggestions/votes/comments with ~~~~ and a # in front of it.
  • Don't vote for your own suggestion. You automatically vote for it if you suggest it.
  • No duplicate fights (unless it hasn't happened in more than a year)
  • All fight suggestions will be archived after a new fight is selected
  • A user can only suggest one fight per week (i.e.- you can't suggest 3 fights at one time)
  • No suggestion fights 2 weeks in a row.
  • Post WHY you support/oppose.
  • You can remove your own suggestion, but you may not post a new suggestion until next week.

Hey its MysteryHeff, I was just wondering how you do that thing were you feed the wii's signal through the computer or something cause I took a cuople of good pics on the wii of the glitch, please reply on my talk page, thanks.--MysteryHeff TALK 07:16, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Well, you need some kind of converter equipment. Some computers have built in inputs for coaxial signal. In this case, you'd need to convert the AV output of the Wii to coax (there are cheep boxes that will do this) and then feed it into your computer. There are also some converters that will send RCA outputs on a USB line. EyeTV is a good product for this if you have a Mac. Once the signal is being displayed through your computer, use a screen shot capture program to get the picture. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 18:41, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Generally speaking, most vandals are IP Addresses, but there are some like the 2 above examples. That's what the administration is here for. "If men were angels, no government would be necessary." I believe Thomas Jefferson said that. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 06:28, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Well, I don't think Super Freak and LarioGalaxy are wannabe Willy on Wheels, I just think that they are vandal accounts who probably don't even know who WoW is, and nothing said "On Wheels" on anything EITHER of them moved. ParaGoomba348 (C'mon, just eat turkey) 08:21, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Look at Alex25's edit count. He has made 180 edits to user talk pages, but only 4 to the main namespace. Whenever I confront him about this, he goes on my talk page and puts a random link. You're all welcome to tell me this is none of my business, but I'm more than a little surprised by this kind of exhortation. Wikis are based on volunteerism, i.e. no one is forced to contribute, regardless of whether or how they choose to use said wiki. No one, regardless of their number of contributions to the user talk and/or main namespaces should be threatened with administrative action on the basis of too few contributions. – Defiant Elements 23:32, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

DE is completely right here. There is no requirement that a user must contribute x-ammount to the main namespace. That being said, spamming links to external sites is against policy. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 00:11, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

I don't think he was spamming links to external sites, just to random pages here. My two bits on this is as follows: think about why you joined the wiki. was it because you wanted to contribute to the community? Or was it because you wanted to talk and make friends? There are sites specifically designed to meet other people (Myspace, Facebook, etc.), and even some dedicated to Brawl (All is Brawl, SWF, etc.). I'm not telling you to quit, just think about it. 4 mainspace edits are nothing to be ashamed of; you've probably done more than a lot of other users here. Team Battle/Brawl

Hey C. Hawk, it's MG. Thanks for the merge, but what about the images? I don't remember the titles, so do you know a way to find them? Plus, by merge (I put the tags), I meant add the Team Brawl information (in general) to Team Battle, and pretty much what you just did. Oh, and on a completely separate, quick, and minor subject, do you mind editing my user page? You see, I have a list of people that I've brawled on WiFi (or will brawl on WiFi), and each user told me (or I found) the color they want their name customized in. Do you mind adding yours (your name is there, just need the color), and, maybe, Semicolon's (if he has a color that you know of that he likes)? Or, you can just tell me the color here, and I'll just edit my page to have your name in that color. MarioGalaxy {talk} 01:30, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

The images are unimportant. It's hard for an image to accurately represent doubles play. Also, most of the information was poorly written, was written as a strategy guide (which we don't do), and was not exactly that correct. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 01:32, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, the images didn't represent doubles play anyway. They represented the mode, as in how you change to it, how teams would look (colors), etc. But hey, it's your call. MarioGalaxy {talk} 01:35, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

It's not so much that it's at the top of the page, it's that if they're realistic enough to decieve someone into actually thinking they have new messages then it's disruptive. The writing was quite poor and the strategies (which we stay away from to begin with) were not good. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 23:22, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Archive

Time for another one, CH! You have 35 headings right now... Friedbeef1 Argue 22:57, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure where this obsession with archives comes from. I usually archive at around 45-50, but it's not a big deal and something I can manage for myself. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 23:23, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Sig

Thanks for showing concern, but I'm not familiar with how that works. Can you tell me? Koopa Claus Happy Holidays 05:42, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Either copy the code from the User:Blue Ninjakoopa/Sig into your raw signature or put {{subst:User:Blue Ninjakoopa/Sig}} there. Substituting is a process that copies the code of the template or page in question to the page after being edited. That way, even if the template is later changed, the page in question isn't. This is sometimes quite useful (such as with signatures or warnings) and other times a bad idea (such as with the tier templates). Hope that clears it up. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 05:46, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
I just tried fitting all of that into my raw signature box and it didn't work. Ok, so you want me to copy the HTML code for my sig into {{subst:User:Blue Ninjakoopa/Sig}}, right? I've seen it before. It's just hard to comprehend. Sorry if I'm being a pain in the buttocks >_< Koopa Claus Happy Holidays 05:50, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Oh nevermind I got it. xD Sorry about that. Thanks :) 189cca7d1.gifBlue Ninjakoopa 189cca7d1.gif 06:12, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Blue NinjaKoopa has a message banner on his page. It leads to Rick ROlled, which is what mine did. If mine got removed, then so domust his. OTherwise, its not fair. --GutripperSpeak if you are worthy 06:16, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Geez. What a snitch, amirite, C. Hawk? I removed it. 189cca7d1.gifKoopa Claus 189cca7d1.gif 06:21, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Please read User_talk:Blue_Ninjakoopa#New_Sig and the corresponding sections of SW:SIGN, including SmashWiki:Sign_your_comments#Length, SmashWiki:Sign_your_comments#Images, and the as of yet unofficial SmashWiki_talk:Sign_your_comments#Sig_boxes. Additionally, to clarify, which sig did you say yes to, the box one or the text ("Koopa Claus") one? Since the time stamps seem to indicate the text one, yet Blue Ninjakoopa seems to think it is the box one. --Shadowcrest 20:20, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Oh, I see. How about this image? Blue_shell.gif Will it work? 189cca7d1.gifKoopa Claus 189cca7d1.gif 21:18, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Down size it so it is the same height as a line of text. Ask Shadowcrest what the coding for that is; he knows it better than I do. Otherwise, it is fine. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 21:19, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

About my fan game. I'm not allowed to make those sub-pages? I'm not a snitch, but doesn't Shadowcrest have a mess-load of sub-pages? And I need a dial tone to access the fanon wiki for some reason. No, it's not normal, but it happens. I only have a laptop so a dial tone is unavailable. Koopa Koopersshell.gif Klaus 10:39, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
I have a grand total of 5 pages that were used only for personal benefit, and of those they are all (?) templates for my userspace, none of which are used to socialize. I am not aware of what the standard is for such pages, but I somehow doubt they're disruptive. --Shadowcrest 15:27, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
I don't know why you would need a dial tone for the fanon wiki. However, in the case of subpages, there is a difference between templates that actually have uses or proposed policies (Shadowcrests) and pointless musings about what you wish could happen. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 15:47, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
It's really strange. But if I put the info on my user page, it will make it hard for users to actually view it. And Shadowcrest, what about your "char" pages? Koopa Koopersshell.gif Klaus 16:27, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
Not to sound like an ass, but I really am not concerned about how easy it is for other users to view it as it is not topical to this wiki. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 22:55, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
If you looked at those char pages you would realize that I improved them in order to comply with the merge cleanup thingy :/ --Shadowcrest 00:50, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Help with my Sig.

Hey C. Hawk, it's MG. Do you know the template used when a sig's code is too long for Special:Preferences? Mine is too long, and I forgot the code. All I remember is that it starts with {{Subst or something. MarioGalaxy A Galaxy begins anew... 00:07, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

{{subst:User:MarioGalaxy/sig}}.. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 00:08, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I know. What I mean is the code to put in Special:Preferences so the sig from that page will become my Default sig. I'm pretty sure Crystal Lucario and Pikamander2 use the code, but I'm not sure. It's similar to the code used to connect a Central Wikia user page to any individual user page. MarioGalaxy A Galaxy begins anew... 00:11, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Ignore what I had before. I forgot to put the coding in. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 00:12, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Oh, sorry, I wasn't focusing. Well, thanks for the code. I gotta remove that text. MarioGalaxy A Galaxy begins anew... 00:14, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Tier List of America

Actually, it was simply one I made up. I was basing it off of how often the chars were used, not their meta game. Sorry about that. That's why I haven't been making it such a big deal. Here's what I predict the next tier list will look like. Don't worry, I didn't put anyone in a place in which they don't belong just because I don't like them, and vice versa.

SSBB Tiers

I appriciate the comments about the tier list. I'll go through it once I have time to really look at it and make some judgements (probably after Christmas). However, let's not use my talk page as the discussion area for it. Thanks. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 19:23, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
