User:Aidanzapunk/Franchise experience

Surprisingly enough, there are a lot of franchises in this game that I have experience with, one way or another. So this is just a list that explains what I know about all of them. For clarification, this is all the major franchises - if I did all the minor ones, we'd be here a while.

Franchise Experience
Mario
MarioSymbol.svg
Played a lot of the games throughout the years, be it mainline titles or spinoffs. They're always a good way to pass the time if I have nothing else to play. Two of the first video games I ever played were Super Mario Bros. 3 and New Super Mario Bros., though I never got past the second world of the former, and spent way too much time in the casino in the latter.
Yoshi
YoshiSymbol.svg
I had Woolly World on Wii U, and I'd later get Yoshi's New Island on 3DS. I did also get the demo for Crafted World, but not the full game.
Wario
WarioSymbol.svg
I've only played a little bit of Wario World, but in terms of WarioWare, I've only played Mega Party Games!.
Donkey Kong
Symbol of the DK series.
I originally had only played Mini-Land Mayhem (that counts, right?) and Country Returns (without even making it past the second level), but after K. Rool's announcement for Ultimate, I finally got around to playing the original Country game. Big fan of the music, but not really much else.
The Legend of Zelda
ZeldaSymbol.svg
I've played a few Zelda games here and there. Ocarina of Time, A Link Between Worlds, Hyrule Warriors (the only one I've completed), and I watched a playthrough of Majora's Mask. But I'm not really that big of a fan of the series.
Metroid
MetroidSymbol.svg
Didn't enjoy Super Metroid, loved Metroid Fusion, and don't really have a strong opinion towards or against Metroid Prime, and Metroid Dread ramps up my anxiety. Outside of that, I haven't played many Metroid games.
Kirby
KirbySymbol.svg
I only own the 20th anniversary game. Of the games on there, the only one I've really taken time to play (and the only one I actually seem to like) is Kirby 64.
Star Fox
StarFoxSymbol.svg
I think I've played the Star Fox 64 Masterpiece, and I know I've played Star Fox on the SNES because an old roommate had a SNES Classic and I played it to unlock Star Fox 2.
Pokémon
PokemonSymbol.svg
Emerald was my first game, and I loved it to death. Unfortunately, my father threw away the cartridge, but I still played the other games that followed at home, and I'm still a big fan of the franchise. The only Gens that I haven't played are II and VIII.
F-Zero
FZeroSymbol.svg
GX crashed my Dolphin. ...That's about it.
EarthBound
EarthboundSymbol.svg
Never played a Mother game. I guess the Masterpiece of EarthBound could count, but I don't count it.
Ice Climber
IceClimberSymbol.svg
I kinda played the game on the NES Classic.
Fire Emblem
FireEmblemSymbol.svg
Awakening was my first, and Fates (specifically, Birthright and Conquest) is the only other game I own. Played Fire Emblem Warriors for like five minutes and hated it.
Game & Watch
Game&WatchSymbol.svg
While I have no experience with one of the original calculator-looking Game & Watch games, my neighbors from when I lived in Michigan did have a Popeye Game & Watch machine. I did also buy the special Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch.
Kid Icarus
KidIcarusSymbol.svg
I love Uprising to death. I was actually (very) late to the party when it came to playing it, but at least I know to regret coming late into it.
Pikmin
PikminSymbol.svg
Only game I own is Pikmin 3, but I watched Chugga complete it because I'm bad at Pikmin 3.
R.O.B.
ROBSymbol.svg
I never owned a R.O.B., but my mom did.
Punch-Out!!
PunchOutSymbol.svg
My roommate got into playing the original NES game, and eventually tried out the Wii version and let me have a shot. Love the characters, even beyond the blatant stereotypes.
Animal Crossing
Symbol of the Animal Crossing series.
I used to play the original on Dolphin, and I also own New Leaf, and both of them were fun time-passers. I also have Happy Home Designer, but I don't play that as often. I loved New Horizons, but I stopped playing it after a long while.
Wii Fit
WiiFitSymbol.svg
I used to do this in my free time to attempt to stay in shape. Too bad my disc got too scratched up for my Wii to be able to read it.
Xenoblade Chronicles
XenobladeSymbol.svg
I own Xenoblade Chronicles for my 3DS, but I'm bad at RPGs, so I have yet to beat it.
Duck Hunt
DuckHuntSymbol.svg
My dad had an NES (that he got from my mom's best friend from college) when I was little, and one of the games he had was the Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt combo. Never did play the Duck Hunt game, though.
Splatoon
SplatoonSymbol.svg
I didn't get into the original, but I decided to actually get into the sequel, and it's a lot of fun. Don't know what turned me away from the first one. (Might've been the GamePad.)
ARMS
Symbol of the ARMS series.
I played a bit of it before I actually got my Switch. I didn't think too much of it, and I didn't end up buying it when I did end up getting my Switch.
Sonic the Hedgehog
SonicSymbol.svg
The Sonic franchise is easily one of my favorites, even with the questionable state of the franchise at times.
Metal Gear
MetalGearSymbol.svg
The only ones I've played are Twin Snakes (the remake of the original) and the 3DS demo for Snake Eater. Playing both of them reminded me that I'm not good at stealth.
Mega Man
MegaManSymbol.svg
My only experience is the Mega Man 2 Masterpiece. (Ironically, I own a Mega Man shirt, though that was a gift from a friend.)
Pac-Man
PacManSymbol.svg
I've played variations of the famous arcade game, but nothing more.
Street Fighter
StreetFighterSymbol.svg
I've played Street Fighter II on Game Boy, and Street Fighter IV on Xbox 360 and PC (the lattermost I actually own). I also got the 30th anniversary collection on PC, because I liked playing Third Strike at an arcade I went to. (...Does Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 count?)
Final Fantasy
FinalFantasySymbol.svg
I bought VII (the original version) for my PS4, and it's a fun RPG to play, but I have yet to complete it. I probably won't get the remake.
Bayonetta
BayonettaSymbol.svg
I got both the original and the sequel as a birthday present one year, and in spite of fearing a dislike of the gameplay, it was actually a lot of fun. It's a shame that the boss fight in Chapter 14 is too annoying (six health bars? Seriously?), and honestly, at that point, the game just seemed super repetitive and annoying to me. I didn't even get very far into the sequel.
Castlevania
Symbol of the Castlevania series.
I watched a close friend of mine through Facebook stream Symphony of the Night. I've also played bits and pieces of the original, but I absolutely suck at it.
Persona
PersonaSymbol.svg
I bought Persona 5 the night of The Game Awards 2018 since it was on sale, though I didn't get to play it over that winter break because I left my controller in my dorm room. I played through a bit of it afterwards, but did not get very far into it.
Dragon Quest
Symbol of the Dragon Quest series.
I'm not huge into RPGs, and I never really had any interest in playing it. Don't really have any interest in playing it even now that it's in Smash. Solely got the demo for XI S for that Tockles spirit, though.
Banjo-Kazooie
Official symbol for the Banjo-Kazooie series.
I own the original on the N64. I would always only occasionally play it as a kid, since it was a used copy and already had a save file on it and I wasn't the brightest tool in the shed, but I only got around to actually having the experience right before the duo was released, and I have to say, while it's a charming game, it hasn't really changed my opinion on collectathons: I still don't like them. I didn't end up beating the game because of this, I ran out of steam at Click Clock Wood.
Fatal Fury
FatalFurySymbol.svg
I got a few KOF games through Twitch Prime, and I also got KOFXIII on sale on Steam. KOFXV is super fun to play.
Minecraft
Symbol of the Minecraft series.
I bought it on its anniversary since it was on sale. It's a fun game to blow off some time in.
Tekken
TekkenSymbol.svg
I got Tekken 7 when it was on sale at one point. I'm absolute garbage at the game, but it's fun to mess around with, at least.
Kingdom Hearts
KingdomHeartsSymbol.svg
I got into the series because of Smash, but not because Sora was announced. Years back, I wanted to make my own moveset for Sora, and eventually I got all the games and played through all of the games in the series. I didn't finish all of them (at the time; I have since finished most of them), but I certainly made sure to stay on top of plot-related elements, at least. I have a love-hate relationship with the series, but they're genuinely fun games to play (some of them, anyway), and a fun experience altogether.

Electro-what now?
Nintendo DS
DSSymbol.svg
I think the first gaming device, console or not, that I ever personally owned was a DS Lite. I still have my old DSi, and I also have a New 3DS XL.
Balloon Fight
Symbol of the Balloon Fight series.
Tried to play it on an NES Classic. Wasn't really that fun.
Nintendogs
NintendogsSymbol.svg
I owned (and still own) a Nintendogs book, but I have yet to actually play one of the games.
StreetPass Mii Plaza
FindMiiSymbol.svg
It was a neat little game to pass the time away. Took forever to beat because of how often I ran out of fighters...
Tomodachi
TomodachiSymbol.svg
I have Tomodachi Life, but I never did play it often, and I haven't touched it in a long time.
Wrecking Crew
WreckingCrewSymbol.svg
Never played it.
Pilotwings
PilotwingsSymbol.svg
I've only played the 3DS game a little bit.
Wii Sports
WiiSportsSymbol.svg
I like the Wii Sports games. It's a cool series. (My personal favorite minigame is the airplane game from Resort.)
Miiverse
MiiverseSymbol.svg
I've seen many things that can't be unseen.
