These are charts showing the post hit data (base knockback, knockback scaling, and KO percentages) of the strongest hitbox in every up smash (or in the case of multi-hit smashes, the values of the final hit when all hits connect) for every character in the Super Smash Bros. series. The up smashes are given a general rank in power in comparison to other up smashes based on the knockback produced by their strongest hitbox at critical percentage.

Chart (SSB)[edit]

NTSC-J to NTSC-U[edit]

  • Nerf Link up smash hit 1 and 2 damage (8% (hit 1)/4% (hit 2) → 7%/3%).
  • Buff Samus up smash base knockback (10 → 22).
  • Nerf Kirby clean up smash damage (18% → 16%).
    • Nerf Base knockback (24 → 20).
  • Nerf Ness up smash damage (19% (clean)/17% (mid)/14% (late) → 17%/15%/13%).
    • Buff Clean hit base knockback (0 → 20).
    • Nerf Clean hit angle (105° → 110°).
    • Nerf Mid hit angle (90° → 78°).

Chart (SSBB)[edit]

The following chart shows the power of the strongest hitbox of every character's up smash in Super Smash Bros. Brawl (or in the case of multi-hitting up smashes, the power of the attack if all hitboxes connect). For Olimar, the up smash of each Pikmin is presented separately on the chart. For the Ice Climbers, Popo and Nana have their up smashes represented on the chart separately, as well as when both connect their up smashes represented separately. In the case of Lucario, he is represented on the chart at minimum power, half power, and maximum power (however the chart does not take the stock modifier into account).

The data on the chart was collected from testing on Mario, with the approximate KO percentages based from the center of Final Destination. The up smashes are ranked by which KO the earliest when the opponent doesn't DI.

    • 85% = Damage at 85% (1x (Aura)
    • 170% = Damage at 170% (1.4x Aura)
