ControversyEdit

In Losers Finals, Kobe won the first two games against Epic_Gabriel with their usual mains. Epic_Gabriel, in a defeating mindset after his initial losses, asked Kobe to play random pocket characters. A request Kobe accepted (Gabriel playing Diddy Kong and Kobe Little Mac). Gabriel managed to win the third and fourth games and with the momentum, eventually reversed 3-0 Kobe when they went back to their mains for game 5. Epic_Gabriel qualified to Grand Finals and ended up winning Shell Shock.

Many smashers, such as Goblin[1] (who is friends with Epic_Gabriel), Sharpy[2] and many Central Florida local players[3], expressed their disappointment towards Epic_Gabriel on Twitter. Many other smashers such as Mr.R[4], Zenyou[5], RiotLettuce[6], and Laid[7] brought their support to Gabriel, mentioning that Kobe shouldn't have accepted that favour. After an exchange in private messages, Kobe and Epic_Gabriel ended the controversy, Kobe saying that he will simply answer "no" next time[8].
