Nebulous (also known in short as Nebs) was the premier local in New York City. The tournament series was originally located at 6A Elizabeth Street but moved to 118 Baxter St in the same neighborhood in order to allow more room. It has since moved thanks to a donation drive by the New York City Smash community and is now at its current permanent location at 145 Ridge St on the Lower East Side. As the number of weeklies has been restarted every move the names of the events at Nebulous have changed to address confusion, known as "Neo-Nebulous" at Elizabeth Street and "Nebulous Prime" today.

There are currently tournaments on almost every day of the week with the usual largest one being SSBM on Saturday. Due to its popularity, Melee is also ran on Tuesday nights as "Nebs After Dark." They were run until recently by the original founder Hectohertz along with several other volunteers but are now ran by Jib, A-On, EmilyWaves and others after his move to Smash 64 primarily.

SSB4 is ran on Sunday primarily by DNA and the Deadly Alliance crew but there has also been recent weeklies on every other Wednesday (to not interfere with the Smash 64 BAS/ranking events) since middle January 2017 due to the closing of another venue.

Project M is ran on Friday by Gallo and is notoriously known for its difficulty due to the number of top PM ranked players such as Switch or Malachi showing just about every weekly.

A burgeoning Smash 64 weekly, which used to be ran on the same day as Project M, is now run on Wednesdays, usually by Horbie, Traiman, or traditionally JimmyJoe. While this started out as a small community, it now has strong weeklies including several 64 League Rankings players such as the aforementioned Horbie as well as players such as Firo, Lowww and occasionally KeroKeroppi.

There tends to be monthly events held as well; known as Apollo (or similar "space themed" names) for Melee as well as Big Apple Smash/BAS in short for Smash 64. These events are also routinely posted on the various local Facebook groups such as NYC SSBM, NYC Smash 4, or NYC SSB64 for example. The largest regional events hosted there include the "Super Series" such as SuperNebulous for Melee, SuperNova for PM, and SuperBoomed for Smash 64 along with various other events.
