Maesuma (マエスマ) is a tournament series run by Maedakun both online on Smashmate and in-person. Maesuma runs one of the largest online tournament series', and some of the most prestigious in-person tournaments in Japan. Footage of the tournaments are maintained on Maedakun's YouTube channel.

Overview

Online

Maesuma's online tournaments are run weekly in a single-elimination, live tournament format. Signups are often up for around an hour and have extremely high participation rates, frequently an upwards of 200 players. Tournaments are region-locked to Japan and require a decently strong connection for participation.

As of August 2022, Maesuma's online ruleset is as follows,

Offline

Maesuma also hosts in-person double-elimination regional and major tournaments in Osaka through Maesuma TOP since 2020, as well as smaller weekly tournaments through Maesuma HIT since 2022.

Maesuma's in-person tournaments share a ruleset slightly different from the online ruleset. As of August 2022, Maesuma's offline ruleset is as follows,
