Fireside Open 2017 was a large collegiate LAN event hosted by Rutgers Esports at the College Avenue Student Center in New Brunswick, NJ. It featured a wide variety of competitive gaming tournaments, including brackets for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Project M. It was sponsored by Twitch, Discord, Tespa, and Controller Chaos among others, and served as the largest Smash 4 tournament of the New Jersey Power Rankings' Fall 2017 season.
