The Mysterious Murasame Castle (謎の村雨城, The Mysterious Murasame Castle) is an action-adventure game set in feudal Japan, initially released for the Famicom Disk System.

Franchise description

The Mysterious Murasame Castle was a Japan-only release for the Family Computer Disk System, a disk-based expansion console exclusive to the Japanese Famicom. It was one of the system's early titles, and its second original title after The Legend of Zelda. The release of Koei Tecmo's Samurai Warriors 3 for the Wii allowed players to experience The Mysterious Murasame Castle for the first time outside of Japan, as Samurai Warriors 3 featured a 3D remake of the game as a separate mode. However, over 28 years after its release, the original game was re-released worldwide through Virtual Console on the Nintendo 3DS.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee

Although Melee lacked elements related to The Mysterious Murasame Castle, Sakurai stated that Takamaru was considered as a playable character during development, but stated that Takamaru’s chances of appearing as playable character in Melee were low.[1]
