Great Maze Easter Egg[edit]

The stage Yoshi's Subspacial Clone is fought on, resembles the layout of Super Smash Bros.'s Yoshi's Island stage, but on a smaller scale. User:BrawlFan181/Sig

Why is Yoshi considered a "he"? Hyper Zergling (talk) 02:34, September 7, 2009 (UTC)

If you mean "why does the article refer to him as a 'he'", then it's because Nintendo does. It's not like Pokemon, where Nintendo says "gender or no gender, Pokemon are 'it's". Yoshi is referred to as male in various sources. Toomai Glittershine Toomai.png The Stats Guy 03:18, September 7, 2009 (UTC)

Yoshi gender[edit]

i have a question- yoshi's are often descirbed as "it". but yoshi's page calls it a "he". should i make it "it"? 173.70.147.66 15:59, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

I had a similar confusion when I was working on Yoshi (SSBM), and seems Yoshi is a "he". --HavocReaper'48 16:01, June 28, 2010 (UTC)
See my post above. Calling Yoshi a "he" is more correct than "it". Toomai Glittershine Toomai.png The Stats Guy 16:02, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

Doesn't Snake's codec officially refer to him as male? (Please, no comments on how snake thought he was a she.)Pokémonultimate PokemonTrainerHeadSSBB.png Do a Barrel Roll! 23:30, 6 December 2011 (EST)

In all media, the Yoshi we know in Brawl is referred to as male. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 00:09, 7 December 2011 (EST)

Yoshi's Grab Attack[edit]

Wouldn't it be silly to actually see Yoshi use his tongue as a tether recovery? Lili Rochefort 1965 (talk) 21:55, 6 January 2011 (EST)

Shield[edit]

Is it worth to mention that Yoshi has a special shield? ShanicpowerFor usage in Shanicpower's signature. Fear the RAWK! 12:45, 26 June 2012 (EDT)

It's already mentioned here. --- ReiDemon, Author Extraordinaire, 13:27, 26 June 2012 (EDT)
But it is worth to be mentioned in this article too, right? ShanicpowerFor usage in Shanicpower's signature. Fear the RAWK! 13:38, 28 June 2012 (EDT)
I don't see a problem with putting it under attributes, since it prevents shield jumping. Smoreking (talk) 17:02, 28 June 2012 (EDT)

K.O. Potential[edit]

It saids here that his K.O. power and amount of K.O. moves are low, but he has a fair number of K.O. moves (forward smash, up smash, neutral aerial, forward aerial, up aerial and many more) and most of them are fairly powerful. YoshiKong (talk) 18:21, 20 December 2014 (EST)

Um...?[edit]

"Samus, Captain Falcon, and Yoshi are the only "perfect attendees" that remain the only character to represent their own series in Brawl." So... Zero Suit Samus is not considered a character?

"Literally every veteran now has a Final Smash"[edit]

I don't see why info on Yoshi's Final Smash should be removed just because "Literally every veteran" has it. Just because every veteran has one now doesn't undermine the fact that Final Smashes are (or were) a new and game-changing feature that should be listed and explained. I could understand if it was something trivial and not all that important, but I believe that Final Smashes are important enough to list even if it's a feature shared by all characters. By the "Literally every veteran has it" logic, then the Final Smash description from SSB4 Mewtwo, Doc, and Roy's page should be removed too. WolfBloodSpam (talk) 16:04, 6 May 2018 (EDT)

I wholeheartedly agree with this. On its face, including details about each character might seem moot, but it's still details that should be discussed. There's not much I can say that adds to what WolfBlood has said, so I'll just leave it there. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 22:33, 6 May 2018 (EDT)
