Isn't it technically D-pad right to jump, up and down to move, and left to duck? Just saying. 67.82.132.59 18:35, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

That's true, I edited the page. Yagomus (talk) 23:14, September 4, 2009 (UTC)

CapitalizeEdit

The back of all game boxes capitalize the word Remote, even moreso with the release of the Wii Remote Plus. Heck, not only does Brawl capitalize the controller, but it's capitalized in the trademarked name. Toast  ltimatum  13:17, 25 November 2012 (EST)

This isn't even worthy of debate. "Wii Remote" is a proper noun, so both words are capitalized. Move. Mr. Anon talk 13:23, 25 November 2012 (EST)
Agreed. Move. --RoyboyX Talk 13:28, 25 November 2012 (EST)

PersonallyEdit

I feel that the Wiimote buttons are not all that easy to read in comparison to the actual words. D-pad up is a hell of a lot easier to read than   up while the button crap like A button vs *  button heavily favors the regular A button text if you ask me. I'd like to see people's opinions on text vs images. MegaTron1XD  10:57, 15 April 2014 (EDT)

Yeah... I'm finding the button icons less than amazing... either just text, or both - preferably the former. ScoreCounter (talk) 10:59, 15 April 2014 (EDT)

I'd also like to add that the usage of Wiimote button images is completely different than the usage of the N64 or GCN buttons, if only because those two are more colorful and easier to identify than the Wiimote buttons, although I still prefer text over those. MegaTron1XD  11:08, 15 April 2014 (EDT)

I have icons ready to upload for D-pad and control stick directions, which would help the first issue. The second issue could also be fixed if I were to make the letters in the buttons darker or something like that. Toomai Glittershine   The Labbie 11:09, 15 April 2014 (EDT)
I still feel that this entire image thing is unnecessary, even if you were able to make it much easier to identify the buttons and remove the entire usage of   up. What exactly do we gain from doing all of this, making the Wiki look pretty for children who can't read the text? MegaTron1XD  11:14, 15 April 2014 (EDT)
Having images inside paragraphs is dubious (yeah other wikis do it but that doesn't mean we have to), but in lists like on this page is fine. Toomai Glittershine   The Non-Toxic 11:15, 15 April 2014 (EDT)
Are there any other pages on this Wiki that uses a list format like this, bar controller pages? I'm fine with using images on lists for controllers, but I'm not so sure about other pages. MegaTron1XD  11:22, 15 April 2014 (EDT)
Because of different controls for Brawl or the Virtual Console controls? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.251.240.152 (talkcontribs) 11:28, 15 April 2014 (EDT)
That doesn't explain why we should be adding button images inside paragraphs; in fact it's an argument to avoid using specific button names in general for those games. Toomai Glittershine   The Indescribable 11:32, 15 April 2014 (EDT)

SplitEdit

I put the template on the page, now here's why I think it should be split.

For one thing, every other button has a page. Consistency insists that this one should too.

Secondly, the Home button doesn't just appear on a Wii Remote. It now appears on both the 3DS and the Wii U GamePad as well.

...Well, that's pretty much it. Thoughts? Nutta Butta (talk) 12:14, 2 July 2014 (EDT)

Strong support. Especially since it's not exclusive to the Wii Remote. Berrenta (talk) 11:14, 3 July 2014 (EDT)
By all means, go ahead and make a Home button page. Miles (talk) 11:58, 3 July 2014 (EDT)
Okay, just turned the former redirect to its own page. There wasn't much on the Wii Remote article that needed moving, so aside from minor touch-ups and notice removal, it's practically unchanged. Berrenta (talk) 12:58, 3 July 2014 (EDT)
