If anyone has knowledge on a certain franchise's Victory Theme, then they are welcome to modify the article. Also, if anyone could word the introduction better and improve it, then that would be great. Thanks. --OK'Ssuka?--

Incorrect Victory ThemesEdit

I'm here to say that the Zelda theme and Yoshi theme are wrong. The Zelda one is based off of the main theme from the first game in that series. The Yoshi one begins with the Title screen of Yoshi's Story, and ends with the 30 Fruits Eaten fanfare of Yoshi's Story.Amycats2 (talk) 23:58, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Villain themesEdit

Does anyone have any insight into why Metaknight is the only character within a franchise to recieve a unique victory theme? It is clear to me why his theme should sound different from Kirby or even Dedede, but I don't see why certain other characters didn't recieve a simillar treatment. Frankly, it seems inapropriate that, say, Bowser should share the same theme as Mario, as they are disimilar and opposing.

One theory that might justify a character like Bowser sharing the happy Mario theme would be that Bowser is sometimes portrayed as a friendlier character, participating in activities such as tennis, kart racing, etc., and even joining Mario's party from time to time. Although, I don't feel that this is the Bowser portrayed in SSBB.

Ganondorf, on the other hand, while starkly evil, IS closely intwined with Link and Zelda so far as the Triforce is concerned, but again the victory theme seems far more suited to these Heroic charactes.

Certainly there are arguments for either side, but it seems very odd to me that only Metaknight would be the exception (possibly the distinction lies with his uniquely ambiguous and mysterious allegiance), and I was curious if anyone knew or could theorize any explanations for this, whether relating to thier game roles, or perhaps something from a more practical developmental standpont.

I would like to be able to include a brief sentence in the article, if it can be appropriately articulated.Zixor (talk) 06:32, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Sakurai mentioned he wanted to do it in his bloggish sort of thing before the Dojo as we know it went up. As for why MK got special treatment, it's clear Sakurai has a teeny bit of favoritism regarding his characters (two kirby newcomers, all kirby characters play important roles in SSE, he voices Dedede etc.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by WilsonatorUK (talkcontribs) 21:15, July 8, 2008 (UTC)

I would like bowser's theme, the Ganondorf fanfare, and special treatment for more characters. Anyway, I would suggest turning this to the forums. XXXXX Talk to me OR ELSE! 03:58, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Section titlesEdit

How does changing the section titles mess the page up? --Trogga (talk) 01:05, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Click here. Once you're there click on the Star Fox 64 Main Theme link. It should not only take you back to this article, but also specifically to the Star Fox section because it was linked to: [[Fanfare#Star Fox 64 Main Theme]] the text that appears after the "#" links to the title of that particular section. If the title is changed, the link won't work. It won't mess up this page, but it can mess up the various links from other pages. Bman87301 (talk) 12:18, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Why not just correct the other pages? --Trogga (talk) 18:31, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Because there are dozens of them. If you want to track down all of them and change them, go ahead. --Bman87301 (talk) 00:58, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Why not just let anyone fix any dead link they see? It's not that big of a deal. --Trogga (talk) 01:41, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

LayoutEdit

Would it be beneficial to lay this out in a more tabular fashion, and have the audio files in the table along with the descriptions? Miles (talk) 17:04, 5 July 2011 (EDT)

I don't like that idea. It seems wrong. Forbidden7  18:12, 5 July 2011 (EDT)

Honestly seems like a good idea to me. I do love organization. MtnDewholic 9000  21:44, 5 July 2011 (EDT)

I do too,but I just like it like this. So I guess we'll let's try it Miles way and see what what others think. Forbidden7  23:33, 5 July 2011 (EDT)

MoveEdit

Me and Clarinet Hawk have had a short discussion on this talk page, and we say this page needs moving to Victory Theme, as Fanfare would, in most instances, be incorrect English. There's a redirect in the way, so I'll need an admin to do this. Toast  ltimatum  05:09, 18 April 2012 (EDT)

Change all instances of fanfare to victory theme, and the move will be made. Omega Tyrant   05:15, 18 April 2012 (EDT)
Currently rewriting this anyway, so I guess we'll wait until I've finished that. Toast  ltimatum  05:26, 18 April 2012 (EDT)

Table of contents?Edit

Why is the table of contents suppressed? It makes navigating the page more awkward without it. Is there a good reason? Flicky1991 (talk) 10:45, 27 April 2012 (EDT)

PenguinofDeath tells me to suppress the contents on music articles, as they count as list pages, and aren't supposed to have contents. Admittedly though, contents would be useful on this page. Toast  ltimatum  12:54, 27 April 2012 (EDT)

Super Smash Bros. for Wii UEdit

When at the Smash Bros. Invitational and watching the Roundtable, you can hear victory themes. All victory themes for returning characters are the same as brawl, ripped out and put in. The new victory themes are for Rosalina, a remix of the Super Mario Galaxy Menu theme. Villager's is a remix of the animal crossing menu, and Pac-Man's is a remix of the tune that plays when you start stage 1 from the original. Listen in and tell me if you hear any more new ones.Ma321 (talk) 8:16, 10 June 2014 (EDT)

No proofEdit

Hey, there's a thing the person who edited this page recently wrote wrong. He or she wrote: "All characters except Meta Knight, Rosalina, and Bowser (in Super Smash Bros. 4) share one flourish across their respective universes, so in the aforementioned instance, Luigi and Peach share the same flourish as Mario. Thus, if one of these characters other than Mario were to win, the same victory theme will still play." Peach wasn't playable in the demo, so why are you assuming so early that she will have the same theme of Mario and Luigi? there isn't a proof nowhere, and it isn't implied nor obvious that she will have the same theme again. It could be different this time around, like her being rescued theme or her castle theme. So I think someone should take out the part about Peach sharing the same flourish as Mario and Luigi until there's proof. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hue hue (talkcontribs) 00:14, June 17, 2014 (UTC)

You're talking as if Smash 4 was the only game in the series. Her victory theme is the same in Brawl as the other Mario characters', but when Bowser's was changed to a different one in Smash 4, the info on the page was updated to accomodate for it. If her theme in Smash 4 turns out to be different, we'll update the page the same way. And please remember to sign your posts, I don't even know who you are.--Totoofze47 (talk) 10:32, 17 June 2014 (EDT)
"you're talking as if smash 4 was the only game in the series" that was very rude! i'm just saying my opinion that it shouldn't be said so early and you come with that? why does all the sites mods have to be so rude? I just requested a thing to make the article better 10:07, 18 June 2014 (EDT)hue hue
Fixed your indent for ya. Please read SW:TALK and SW:SIGN, because you add colons : to indent (add one more than the person you are replying to). Also, don't write out your sig. Put 4 tildes ~~~~ and it will be created for you.
Back on topic, Totoofze47 is not a mod. See here for a list of admins. Also, I'm assuming your comment was in good faith, but think through what Totoofze said before calling him "rude". Peach's theme has not yet been heard in Smash 4, meaning that the sentence referring to Mario and Luigi sharing a theme with her is, as of now, not incorrect because she has in every other game. The moment there's proof of her theme being different, we change it. Simple as that.  intendrone42 11:06, 18 June 2014 (EDT)

But I put four tildes, why did you put the link of the article about signing comments? Hue hue (talk) 23:26, 19 June 2014 (EDT)Hue Hue

The way you are signing is incorrect. Look at your comment; your name is listed twice because you typed "~~~~Hue hue". You are supposed to type "~~~~". Nothing more, nothing less. The tildes generate your entire sig.  intendrone42 11:31, 20 June 2014 (EDT)

Mega Man's fanfareEdit

It was changed the other day to this: "It is a remix of the short jingle that plays whenever MegaMan defeats a robot master." Really? It sure wasn't that in the demos; it was the first few bars of his theme song (AKA the Mega Man 2 title theme). --54.240.196.186 15:17, 12 September 2014 (EDT)

Mii victory ThemeEdit

No clue how to format this page so I'll leave the proof that the Mii Fighter's victory theme is the Smash 4 theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7ubq7JpJ3Y Guybrush20X6 (talk) 20:58, 13 September 2014 (EDT)

Pac-Man "Placeholder" ErrorEdit

On Pac-Man's section, it mentions that prior to the release of Smash 4, there was a placeholder victory theme taken from Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures.

I am assuming that it's referring to the E3 2014 Roundtable, however the video Nintendo posted of the event shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDsmjbifWUk at 1:43 shows that Pac-Man's victory theme WASN'T from Ghostly Adventures, but is the same theme as the final release. GoldenYuiitusin (talk) 16:43, 20 April 2015 (EDT)
While the applause drowns it out sufficiently that it isn't clear to me that it's the final version being used, it's equally out-there to claim it's the Ghostly Adventures version. I'll remove the claim in question. Miles (talk) 17:11, 20 April 2015 (EDT)
I don't hear GA. I hear the final version. Clear as day to me, but to each his own opinion, I guess...  Aidan, Master of Speed and Aura  17:14, 20 April 2015 (EDT)

No sources?Edit

(Hey, im new here so if im doing this wrong, i apologize, hopefully i didnt misunderstand what the "how to edit" page meant about how to make a new heading) Ive noticed recently there has been places for a Toon Link victory theme, which had no information or source and has since been removed, and a Corrin victory theme now, which still has no source but at least its being described now. Is there anyone who can prove if these two characters actually have new unique victory themes, or is this the work of some troll? —Preceding unsigned comment added by ThatOneGuy9001 (talkcontribs) 02:02, November 3, 2018 (EDT)

This information is being taken from a Japanese tournament series which is currently being streamed over the weekend. DryKirby64 (talk) 03:00, 3 November 2018 (EDT)

Ness and Lucina in UltimateEdit

Can someone provide a link to Ness and Lucina's new victory themes? Because I have absolutely no clue as to where they are.  Sonic, the Thankful Speedster  15:50, 5 November 2018 (EST)

Seconded, plus on the matter of Corrin's new one, if Lucina's is called "Awakening theme" then shouldn't his/her's be "Fates Theme"? Guybrush20X6 (talk) 13:12, 10 November 2018 (EST)

Mii Victory Theme which 1 is right.Edit

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhh... The Mii fighter's victory theme sounds like the Battlefield SSBU remix. Any oppositions???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? (is anyone gonna comment on this?)71.168.118.220 20:33, February 12, 2021 (EST)

Lifelight is Ultimate's main theme, and Battlefield is a remix of it. Hence, I believe that portion should stay as is. Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Gamer (talk) 20:39, February 12, 2021 (EST)

Wario's victory themeEdit

Wario's victory theme in Smash does not come from Wario Land Shake It, of couse, proven by the "references" section of this article (although, some articles in this wiki still say otherwise, for some reason).

However, i want to discuss that, unlike what this article (as well some other ones from this wiki) say, Wario's victory theme might not be completely made up for Smash; in which, the possible source where that theme came from is from the jingle that plays when a player wins a microgame in Wario's stage in WarioWare Touched: https://youtu.be/AAcGkRqzdY0?t=235

I might be acting a bit (if not, completely) tone deaf with this one, but i think it's the jingle that matches the best with Wario's victory theme in the Smash series, and it would kinda make sense being the case considering the amount of stuff we have from WarioWare Touched just in Brawl alone.181.220.102.161 (talkcontribs) 21:55, July 27, 2022 (GMT-3)

I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed by Sakurai or some noteworthy source that Wario's victory theme came from Wario Land Shake It. As for the video that you linked, the WarioWare jingle sounds nothing like the Smash victory theme. Cookies Creme 21:07, July 27, 2022 (EDT)
It literally was said by the composer himself that no, Wario's victory theme in Smash does not come from Shake It. Nintendo gave him that track (along with other songs from Wario's games) to use as reference for some tracks for Shake It: https://www.heypoorplayer.com/2017/03/17/tomoya-tomita-interview/ --181.220.102.161 (talkcontribs) 22:57, July 27, 2022 (GMT-3)
"In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Wario’s victory theme was an arrangement of the Stonecarving City theme from Shake It!, which hadn’t yet come out. Were you involved in this special cameo?"
"No, that was another piece I received from Nintendo. I didn’t do anything for Brawl."
So, from what I'm reading, Tomoya didn't compose the victory theme, not that the theme isn't from Shake It!. There's also that Stonecarving City is extremely close to the victory theme regardless. It is also possible that Nintendo liked the Stonecarving City theme and gave it to another composer to remix for the victory theme; the games were released within 6 months of each other, sounds possible to me. --CanvasK (talk) 22:34, July 27, 2022 (EDT)
Read the rest of the article CanvasK. Nintendo gave him three pieces of music from other games that Wario appeared in for him to use as reference for the soundtrack of Shake It, which just so happens to include Wario's victory theme in Smash.
"Minako Hamano-san is also listed as a music credit. Did you two collaborate together?"
"We didn’t actually collaborate. Right when I began the project, Nintendo sent me three pieces used in previous Wario titles (one of which was Greenhorn Ruins) and said, “Here—use these.” I imagine Hamano-san composed those."
Not to mention his quote saying "another piece I received from Nintendo" when talking about Wario's victory theme. --181.220.102.161 (talkcontribs) 23:51, July 27, 2022 (GMT-3)

(reset indent) So I read the half of the interview relevant to Wario. What the composer is saying is that he first received Wario's victory theme from Nintendo and was told to use it in Shake It, which is what we have written down on the wiki. Since it wasn't used in any previous Wario title (as it was a piece created specifically for Brawl), it does not fit the "three pieces used in previous Wario titles" description and therefore is likely an original tune a Smash composer made. Cookies Creme 23:40, July 27, 2022 (EDT)

I should add, saying that the piece "might" not come be completely made for Smash is speculation, which we do not allow on the wiki. Cookies Creme 23:43, July 27, 2022 (EDT)
That's exactly why i bother to coment anything about Wario's victory theme in Smash on this talk page in the first place mate, to fact check something before doing an excessive amount of edits on muliple articles of this wiki with a information that might've not been true at all. --181.220.102.161 (talkcontribs) 00:58, July 28, 2022 (GMT-3)
