Metal Mario/Luigi

I'm pretty sure that at least in SSB, Metal Mario has a chrome Super Mushroom emblem. Since they also have roots in Mario games I don't think they should be listed here. Any other thoughts? --Kirby King 23:52, February 20, 2007 (GMT)

Huh. I think we should follow a strict group-by-universe format for these pages, so the Metal Bros. should be mentioned in the Mario universe article then. I think it could also be mentioned unofficially in this page, too. Erik the Appreciator 23:55, February 20, 2007 (GMT)

Very well then, I will begin modifying the page. As Metal Mario first orginated in Super Mario 64 he should be a part of the Mario universe according to my sources. This was an automatic message from AICM 411. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AICM 411 (talkcontribs) 20:15, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, technically metal mario would be part of the mario uni. since, well he's called metal mario for crying out loud!--Daniel Earles May 4 08 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Smashbro (talkcontribs) 21:44, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Who is it?

Who creates the Rules and such for the universe? Master Hand (if so, who is controlling it)? Tabuu?12.74.207.137 03:21, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Fan games

I don't think fan games belong on this page, certainly not in the capacity they currently hold. They are not a part of the Smash Bros. universe in any official sense, and are very much out of place in an article that's otherwise exclusively about content that actually appears in the Smash Bros. games themselves. The list of fan games can be its own article, and the enormous table at the bottom of the page that lists what characters appear in what games (including fan games) is unnecessarily difficult to decipher, largely because it lists fan games. (Come to think of it, the entire character list should probably be removed from this article too, because this article should cover content that originated in the Smash Bros. universe, which is not true of any playable character and is definitely not true of any fan game.) --Kirby King 05:35, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

This whole page needs to be redone.

I was working on the wording for some of the stages in Super Smash Bros. section, but the more I look at the page, the more I see a need to completely redo it. The writing is very amateurish and wordy, the organization is poor, and the formatting is sloppy. This is too big of a job to take on myself; I don't even know where to begin. We could make this page a lot more concise but I'd like to get some ideas as to how.

The biggest problem for this page is redundancy; we already have a whole page for a description and history of the series, so the Franchise Description section should be vastly cut down with any relevant info being put on that page instead if it's not already there. This page should be more about the "original generation" elements, as in the stuff that's specific to Smash Bros. itself like characters and locations only seen within the series. That, and I'm thinking we should organize the page sections in a way other than by game; there's no need to list some of this stuff four times in a row just to note the minor differences between games.

I wrote the franchise description to this page, and while I obviously don't own this content (which means I wouldn't really have the right to object to any official decision on the site to restructure the franchise description the way you say), I'd like to express how I would justify the current franchise description's content right now. Each of the other universe articles' franchise descriptions are intended to be historical and modern descriptions of each series tailored specifically for Smash Bros. players who don't know much about what that series is about (despite having probably played around with its representative content in Smash games itself). Right now, every character-based universe has that kind of overall layman's description, and since this Smash Bros. universe article is part of the same collection of articles, it only felt right to give it the exact same kind of franchise description - a summarized description for new players/people outside the series or video games in general without presenting too much about its in-game technicalities.
I would think that that other page about the Super Smash Bros. (series) would be the better page to consider a restructure of its franchise-describing content for, though it seems like it already does do some of what I would suggest for that - putting in more technical, Smash player-oriented information like the first game's exclusive occurrence of the Board the Platform mode, Melee's introduction of All-Star and Tournament modes, the exact number of stages and trophies in each game, Brawl's controller compatibilities, and a more in-depth description of the types and workings of items. Perhaps the Smash (series) article can be focused on as the "technical history" of the series whereas the universe article here serves as the "layman's history" like it does right now, and some redundancy between these pages could be passable in this case because the pages are essentially for "different audiences" now.
Of course, all the rest of the content on this page should have a more layman-oriented rewrite to match the layman-oriented franchise description above it, like the completed Donkey Kong (universe) page... Erik the Appreciator (talk) 13:54, 27 April 2014 (EDT)

Mii pic

We need a Mii-char pic! (like all the other fighters have on their own universe-page!)

Would the Demo itself count as "Latest Installment"?

Just curious. Won't matter by Friday anyway. Guybrush20X6 (talk) 08:19, 10 September 2014 (EDT)

A demo isn't a game of its own, and SSB3DS comes out in 50 hours or so. Don't bother. Miles (talk) 08:35, 10 September 2014 (EDT)

Mii Classes as seperate characters

since the Brawler, Gunner and Swordfighter are different characters in terms of gameplay, shouldn't they have pictures as well? Kinda like Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard in Brawl. They were one slot but three different characters gameplay wise, slots doesn't really matter towards characters in Smash Bros. It's the gameplay that makes a character. I agree. If the list of 3DS Character icons have all three of them separately, then the Wii U Character Icons should have the Mii Swordfighter and Gunner. Raccoonman 900 (talk) 7:13, 23 October 2014 (PDT)

I asked Toomai to create some, but they're not currently uploaded, so I assumed he declined. PikaSamus (talk) PikaSamus 10:23, 23 October 2014 (EDT)
Since we have 3DS icons for everyone, I'm not doing any more Wii U icons until I have the game (at which point I'll make new ones for everyone, as planned from the start). Toomai Glittershine ??? The Brass 10:25, 23 October 2014 (EDT)
