Add advice for getting cores?[edit]

For non-specific cores, it's best to farm DLC Spirit Boards, since they're nonrandom and don't require the shooting minigame. Persona has Attack, Grab, Defense, and Support in easy battles, but currently (with the fifth DLC character not announced yet), Neutral cores requires fighting either Banjo-Kazooie's Jinjo (2-star battle with a G&W and then three more) or Fatal Fury's Iori Yagami (3-star battle with Wolf and then Wolf).

I am new to the wiki and unsure whether this kind of information is appropriate for this kind of article. --Raijinili (talk) 03:34, January 5, 2020 (EST)

It's useful information, but because SmashWiki is not a strategy guide it doesn't belong in the mainspace. SupαToαd64 Image for my signiture icon. 08:18, January 5, 2020 (EST)

Inspiration: bloated, or just right?[edit]

If you go back to the beginning of January, the "Inspiration" column was kept brief and focused only on the specific traits represented by the cores needed for summoning. For example, Fusion Suit's inspiration was "The Fusion Suit is a combination of Chozo technology and Metroid DNA", which tells you all you need to know about why the Chozo Statue and Metroid spirits are required for summoning this spirit.

Since then, an anonymous IP editor has overhauled the "Inspiration" column. Now, it reads more like the "Origins" section of an article, providing a ton of context to explain the summoned spirit's role in its home series. Getting back to Fusion Suit, it now says "The Fusion Suit is the result of Samus’s Power Suit which underwent alterations while Samus was injected with Metroid DNA to combat the X Parasite in her system (represented by the Chozo, the avian-like race which not only created the Power Suit but also raised Samus into a warrior, and by the Metroid)."

If this a full-fledged article, then I'd be perfectly fine with a detailed "Origins" section. However, as the column of a table specifically focusing on summoning spirits, the extra lore feels like unnecessary bloat to me. You don't need to know that the Fusion Suit was created to combat X Parasites, or that the Chozo raised Samus, or that Ruto "was rescued from the belly of Zoras' patron deity, Lord Jabu-Jabu by Young Link", or that Kuome & Kotake are Ganondorf's surrogate mothers, or... well, you get the point. None of this is relevant to explaining the inspiration behind why specific spirit cores are needed for summoning these spirits.

But, am I the only one who thinks this? Others may appreciate the extra info, and I could simply have a very narrow perception of what the "Inspiration" column should entail. --PeabodySam (talk) 15:00, March 27, 2020 (EDT)

It could definitely use a trim, in my opinion. Just off the bat Gold Mario's first point can be removed out-right since the second point covers it just fine. All of the information not relating to the cores used shouldn't be mentioned, like with Koume & Kotake. I'd also argue that mentioning the summoned spirit every time is unneeded, such as Starfy's saying "Starfy's required summoning cores..." could be "The required summoning cores...".--CanvasK (talk) 15:23, March 27, 2020 (EDT)
