Say, what happens if Ryu's on 1vs1 against Ice Climbers?Edit
I mean, in 1 on 1, Ryu always faces his opponent. But what if he's fighting the Ice Climbers, and one is in front of Ryu while the other is behind him? Did anyone get to test that at E3? Unowninator (talk) 19:30, 26 June 2018 (EDT)
Diddy's Showcase VideoEdit
In Diddy's showcase video, Diddy uses Banana Peel and Ryu walks into ithowever he is walking backwards. As far as I can tell, Ryu can only do that in 1v1 matches, but Ryu was very clearly facing away from Diddy. How exactly does the freeze frame multiplier make his moves safer on shield?Edit
I feel like I may have asked this before but I still don't understand why. I thought that when a move hits a shield, both the attacker and defender go through the hitlag (assuming it's not a projectile) and then the defender goes through shieldstun. Focus Attack in Changes from Smash 4Edit
Ultimate made it so Ryu can cancel into Focus Attack by landing a hit with any of his special cancellable moves, which was not possible in Smash 4.

Do players really need approval when there's already less than 10 on the list? Ikan definitely should be on the historically significant players list after Genesis, there's no real reason not to when there's only 4 other Ryu players listed. Meanscreen (talk) 18:29, May 3, 2022 (EDT)
- Yeah, the guidelines for inclusion are pretty stringent now, so were are not necessarily looking for 10 notable players for each characrer. Ikan has been talked about though, so you may find consensus on him. That said we are in the process of updating the lists again since they've become outdated, and of course always looking for input or dialoge on it.
