Command Grab (toomai)[edit]

youve said this before and ive never understood it. there /is/ such a thing as a command grab in smash: http://streetfighter.wikia.com/wiki/Command_Grab . a command grab is defined as a grab move that requires a directional input and can not be broken. mewtwo's confusion is exactly this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DJLO (talkcontribs) 08:44, 13 February 2014 (EST)

I know what it means, and I'm not trying to say the technique doesn't exist. I'm saying that the phrase "command grab" is not used by smashers and so shouldn't be used by us. Instead we just say it's a special move that can grab opponents, which implies that it has special rules to control escape; there's no need to have a new term that means "can't be broken out of". Ok cool that makes sense. thanks for clearing that up. DJLO (talk) 09:53, 13 February 2014 (EST)

"fortunately"[edit]

i dont actually care about this, but it would have been a MASSIVE spoiler if people had found out that mewtwo was gonna be in pm before he was announced. that's why it was "fortunate". DJLO (talk) 10:09, 20 February 2014 (EST)

We don't make value judgements here. Just because you don't like spoilers doesn't meant there aren't parts of the community that do. We just report on the fact that the leak was barely noticed, not how it makes you feel. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 10:25, 20 February 2014 (EST)

like i said, i dont actually care what the article says. the summary given why "what was fortunate about that"? i was answering that question.DJLO (talk) 10:55, 20 February 2014 (EST)

Disable. Buff, change? (Crazymasterhand98)[edit]

paging Crazymasterhand98. it seems we now understand each other regarding disable. however, it is still isted as a nerf. disables has not suffered any nerfs. the fact that it doesnt do knockback on stunned enemies allows you to use it at least twice(which you could not do in melee since the second hit would wake them up), or you can just do a smash(like you would in melee). therefore i would call it a straight buff.

currently, you have this listed as a "change". i think that is probably ok, although i would argue it is a buff. however, it is showing up as a "nerf" even though the code says "change". maybe fix that? also thanks for editing the jab part, i think it says what we were both trying to say now. Did'nt have time to log in, but you know what? Fuck off. I don't have time to debate this shit. Seriously, ur being a fucking cunt, no ones gives a shit what you think, and Mewtwo is a fag. Don't message my talk page. --Crazymasterhand98/199.217.117.140 18:24, 25 February 2014 (EST)--User was temp banned for this post
This is clearly not an acceptable way to contribute to a civil discussion, and you've earned yourself a block for it. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Brass 18:28, 25 February 2014 (EST)
Also, for reference, this IP is not the user he claims to be. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Glow 18:32, 25 February 2014 (EST)
This is all a meaningless change that is no way a real buff. The damage added is negligible (it's just 1%), and the vast majority of the time, you're gonna only able to pull off one attack quickly, you have no time to disable again for an extra 1% and then attack. The only way you're gonna be able to pull that off is well beyond kill percent, when your opponent is going to die either way (in which case the very little extra damage did nothing, except give them more time to mash out and escape). So trying to claim this is a real buff is ridiculous (though it's no real nerf either, as again the disable knockback hit has no practical use when you can get a guaranteed grab with throws that are so much stronger). Sorry for not logging in... Yes, DJLO, it's just a change; OT is right. By pulling of quicker attacks and starting combos after stunning your foe you rack up much more damage and get higher chances of achieving a KO than with another Disable that's slower in startup and racks up insignificant damage. It's like Ganondorf's five Warlock Punch turnarounds: it may look like a new helpful feature, but the turnarounds actually slow him down; he will barely hit any opponent with it. Maybe there's a reason for this....but why are EmuKiller and to an extent Mew2King not on here whatsoever? Ganonmew, The Evil Clone 17:01, 30 July 2017 (EDT)
