Fanboy SpeculationEdit

I took the liberty of removing the idiocy connecting MArth's costumes to other Fire Emblem games since there is absolutely no connection between Marth's red color swap and the BK from PoR. If possible could you guys help keep these false ties off the articles? Escpecially ones like this, I mean, the red costume was lifted straight from melee... Third Victory Pose?Edit

I was wondering why Marth is the only character who doesn't have a third Victory Pose. Is it because no ones discovered it yet? If that's the case, then that's really messed up! Not to mention impossible!--King Dedede Kirby 01:55, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

I haven't heard or seen that. You on Brawl atm? (I've loaned my friend the game) Can we get someone to verify this? Solox 02:00, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

The SSBB page at "Zapanet.info" (Japanese site) definitely lists three victory poses. If you want to see for yourself: http://zapanet.info/smash/index.php?%A5%DE%A5%EB%A5%B9#jc0338e3 There are three bullets under 勝利ポーズ (victory poses), each with the pose's dialogue. ~hoshi 71.211.216.3 03:14, December 20, 2009 (UTC)

Counterattack translationEdit

Does anyone know what Marth's two successful counterattack dialogue choices are in english? ILoveWario (talk) 17:41, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

i think one is "Right there!" JtM =^] (talk) 17:58, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
I don't know any Japanese, but it sounds to me like he says something like "soku da". - Gargomon251 (talk) 19:16, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Marth has three "successful counterattack" sayings. According to a few of my native Japanese acquaintances on Lang-8, they are:

(Japanese / romaji / LITERAL English, PARAPHRASED English)
  • そこだ / soko da / "There!" or "Gotcha!"
  • 見切った / mikitta / "I saw everything!" or "I saw through your attack!"
  • させるものか / saseru mono ka? / "Did you think I'd let you (hit me?)" or "I prevented your attack!"

Pros and Cons ?Edit

Where are the pros and cons ? Why did they disappear ? Metalink187 (talk) 18:34, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, why did all the Pros and Cons from the character sections get removed? I found them useful. Newuser12345215 (talk) 19:11, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Too much dramaEdit

The article talks about Marth as is he was a bad character. "Uncertain whether Marth has improved since Melee", it says. But he is still a favorite among players, holds a VERY desirable sixth rank on the tier list and has a brutal Final Smash. So please, less worthless drama and more objetivity. Thanks. --201.210.44.78 19:26, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Then rewrite it? --Shadowcrest 19:33, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
The quote just means that we don't know if he has gotten better or worse since Melee. Some might say he has gotten worse, others he has gotten better. It's not that the quote is putting him down or bashing him. Unknown the Hedgehog 19:40, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Something for you HackersEdit

How about a hack for the game to make Marth speak English. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nybiker1 (talkcontribs)

1)Sign your posts.

2)Probably impossible, as there is probably no recorded English voice acting on the Brawl disc.L33t Silvie Your epidermis is showing. 21:19, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

It is quite possible with extreme hacking, but it could damage your wii console permanently. It would require manual hacking and voice inputs. You should "probably" research hacking on a website from Shade's page dude. Considering you are, of course, t3h 1337 h4x0r. ;) Blue Ninjakoopa 21:23, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Marth's D airEdit

For some reason, everytime I try to use Marth's D air I always end falling a lot faster then normal and usually to my doom. Can anyone offer a reason as to why this happens and how to prevent it, as it is rather irksome. Kirbyblue 03:01, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

It usually happens because you fastfall it (a problem with down aerials) because you use the analog stick and the A button rather than the analog stick and C-stick combo (assuming you use a GCN controller witht the default control scheme). If you have a GCN controller, just press the C-stick down and the analog stick up at the same time, so instead of falling, you actually get a tiny bit of height. Alternatively, if you have enough skill you can use the Vertical spacing technique.

All you have to do is tilt down instead of smashing the control stick down. I play as Marth and have found that irksome as well, but if you do it right you shouldn't fast fall. 206.248.201.52 02:48, December 11, 2009 (UTC) TheDragonReborn

Marth Better Than IkeEdit

I Agree Marth Is A Great Charcter But Not As Ike I Think Ike Should Of Got Number 6 On THe Tier List Marth Is A Lightweight Not A Heavyweight So he Cant KO openents As Well AS Ike Plus Marths Recovery Stinks

The Battlefield fortessEdit

I noticed something in the subspace emissary. about two seconds after Marths duel with Meta knight they start to get along and they instantly become friend two seconds later whats up --Ikeruler (talk) 22:15, June 6, 2010 (UTC)

Meta Knight, being a newcomer, had no idea who Marth was, and seeing him so close to Subspace assumed he was one of them. Once the baddies showed up they realized they were on the same side. (By the way, such discussion is generally discouraged here.) Toomai Glittershine   The Stats Guy 22:18, June 6, 2010 (UTC)

hey, i need a strategy for how to defeat marth.... i cant get through his speedy attacks

Hmmm. There is no real strategy. Find a strategy guide to figure out what counters Marth or how to better use your character(s). And sign using ~~~~.--MegaTron1XD  23:58, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

2 of Marth's Smash AttacksEdit

More often than not, when I do an f-smash or a d-smash, the stem hits the foe. Right you are, hun, about it being hard to sweetspot with the tip. That's why Marth is not my main character, but he's nevertheless cool with me. If there was a secret to tipping his smash attacks more often, and I'm not saying there is one, it'd be this: when you stand approximately 3 inches from the foe, the down-smash has a good chance of hitting at the tip there. At approximately 4 inches, the tip from the f-smash could land. Of course, who could precisely space the two characters these distances? Nobody, so this "secret" may not be practical in any match, right? Lili Rochefort 1965 (talk) 01:09, 2 January 2011 (EST)

There's no real way to measure something in real life units in Brawl. Likewise, there's no real "secret" to tipping consistently other than learning how to space properly. But even then, non tipped hits are going to be much more common than tipped ones. Omega Tyrant   01:39, 2 January 2011 (EST)
There´s no secret to hit the tip in opponents (especially because every character have different standing positions, heights and weights, for example, its much more easy to hit his dair with the tip of the sword in Bowser then Kirby) only good spacing, like Omega Tyrant said. So, resuming, it´s impossible to do a measure that works for every single character. Zero (talk) 07:35, 2 January 2011 (EST)
Yes, that's what I thought. Oh, well. It's better to hit at the stem than not to land the attack at all. Sometimes I'll get lucky and tip these attacks in battle, but truthfully speaking, I have better luck tipping his up-smash. Lili Rochefort 1965 (talk) 18:44, 5 January 2011 (EST)
In Brawl, the u-smash doesn't has a distinct tipper hitbox. It had multiple hitboxes, and besides the minor 4% hitboxes on the far edges of his sword, none are significantly stronger than the others. Omega Tyrant   18:53, 5 January 2011 (EST)

Ken ComboEdit

The Ken Combo is not guaranteed or feasible in Brawl much to my own disgust

What the heck?! I just saw some examples of some players performing Ken Combo in Brawl on YouTube & it still exist. And now I find it a bit difficult to perform than in melee, because a tipped forward air sends horizontally instead of vertical & down air has a smaller sweet spot. It works at certain percentage depends if u land a tipped or non tipped forward air. I found that it is feasible in Brawl & it is almost guranteed. Don't assume that Ken Combo does not exist. Just look it up on the video and you see how it is done in brawl with Marth with different variation. 98.226.164.41 01:18, 16 February 2013 (EST)

I never said the Ken Combo doesn't exist. I said it wasn't feasible. Feasible means it can be done reliably and given Brawl's lack of hitstun it is certainly not guaranteed. I can just DI the non-tipper forward air and just jump or air dodge away. I have seen the videos you're talking about. Some youtube players getting lucky doesn't mean anything when the Ken Combo is rarely seen in tournament sets. Present better evidence than youtube videos. Show me a smashboards thread detailing exact percentages and frame data to prove for certain that it is guaranteed. Or better yet, why don't you put yourself in contact with actual experts who play the game. I've talked to a professional Brawl player, Mr. R, who advised against going for Ken Combos simply because it cannot be done consistently unless the opponent is stupid and not watching.--BrianDon't try me!  01:47, 16 February 2013 (EST)
