Regarding the redirects

Just recently, it has been announced Kazuya Mishima from the Tekken series is joining the roster in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. However, Tekken previously had a section on the "List of minor third-party universes" page, and whenever a minor universe gains "major universe" status, it is to be removed from the "minor universes" pages.
This means all pages that still have the {{uvm|*insert universe here*}} or {{uvm3|*insert universe here*}} links would have to be updated to the universe's new standalone page in order to not lead readers to a non-existent section on an article, and considering 324 pages currently link to the "minor Nintendo universes" page and 266 of them link to the "minor third-party universes" page, I can only imagine trying to look for all instances of the old links being used might be a hassle.

However, I noticed a neat trick regarding the "uv" template: If a redirect to a specific section on either minor universe page or the "Mii (universe)" has the word "(universe)" in its name, the "uv" template will actually recognize said redirect to the desired section. To give off some examples:

Chibi-Robo! (links to List of minor Nintendo universes)
Tales (links to List of minor third-party universes)
Nintendo Land (links to Mii (universe))

All three of the universes listed are using the "uv" template despite not having standalone pages, yet the links still redirect to their desired sections on their respective pages.

As a result, I feel this trick might make the "uvm" and "uvm3" templates completely obsolete, and I believe if a redirect for every minor universe that adds "(universe)" in the name is made to accommodate this, we probably won't have to worry about looking through hundreds of pages in order to update outdated redirects should a minor universe become a major one or switch between pages (e.g. minor Nintendo universes -> minor 3rd-party universes).

Another benefit is that, with these redirects combined with the "uv" template, the only things that would need changing is the contents within the redirect page (for example, if there was a "(universe)" redirect for The Wonderful 101 and it has been decided to move it back to the "minor Nintendo universes" page, all that would need changing is that the target link, "List of minor third-party universes#The Wonderful 101", could be changed to "List of minor Nintendo universes#The Wonderful 101"; Or if it becomes a major universe, such as with a fighter or Assist Trophy, the "(universe)" redirect could be rewritten into its own standalone universe page).

Any objections? JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 15:57, June 15, 2021 (EDT)

It's a minor thing, but I would rather do a minor bit of cleanup occasionally and leave the templates as is than force the constant usage of redirects. It's notably more professional-looking to link directly to the appropriate section, in my mind. Miles (talk) 17:08, June 15, 2021 (EDT)

Rename from "List of minor universes" to "Minor universes"

Given that the lists themselves are on other pages, I'm thinking this page should be repurposed to define what a minor universe is and to link to the Nintendo, Mii related and 3rd party minor universes. Guybrush20X6 (talk) 06:24, July 26, 2022 (EDT)
