It might be nice for someone to edit this article to differentiate between spikes and meteor smashes: "A non-meteor smash spike is a special kind of spike that cannot be meteor cancelled. Examples include Falco's and Marth's dairs in all NTSC versions of Melee."

Maybe I'll do it right now.... SimnaibnSind (talk) 23:39, 9 October 2013 (EDT)

The meteor smash article already does so. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 23:49, 9 October 2013 (EDT)

Does this article need images of every meteor smash?

I brought this up on one of the other meteor smash articles, and I don't think it needs an image of every meteor. The picture shows no additional information than an image of only one character without spiking them would provide, or a gif. And people do get confused with meteors and spikes in Melee, especially Brawl players, they're practically synonymous with each with only a few differences. Look what the person above wrote. There really isn't a problem with having those images... it demonstrates the moves pretty well, what's the problem with that? Scr7Scr7 sig.png(talk · contribs) 16:57, 10 October 2013 (EDT)
It doesn't get a good view of the character using it, especially if the opponent gets sent far away. What's the big deal of showing the trajectories of meteor smashes anyways when all of the other attacks don't have them? A gif of the attack being used by itself would be vastly superior due to the close-up. Awesome Cardinal 2000 19:02, 10 October 2013 (EDT)
What, a /closeup of it being used/ isn't a good view? It doesn't need to be zoomed out to demonstrate the meteor smash, as both the attack and the opponent can clearly be seen. And what the hell would we gain from deleting all those images outside of a recent changes flood as unnecessary as this? Scr7Scr7 sig.png(talk · contribs) 15:24, 11 October 2013 (EDT)
Not all of them are closeups, look at the Smash 64 images. I also never said that the images had to be zoomed out. Also look at images like this one where a still image doesn't help to capture the attack clearly. What would best would be a gif using the attack on an opponent without zooming too far away, or the user by itself with the meteor smash hitbox being displayed. These still images by themselves would not be acceptable, and the gifs should be created for every attack. Awesome Cardinal 2000 15:56, 11 October 2013 (EDT)
Gifs would be fine, but it would still cause an arguably unnecessary recent changes flood. Scr7Scr7 sig.png(talk · contribs) 16:00, 11 October 2013 (EDT)

To answer the question in the section title: No, it does not and should not. It is totally pointless to have more than an example and perhaps a few notables from each game. That's what we have categories for. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Trumpeteer 16:59, 11 October 2013 (EDT)
