Voice[edit]

Listen to Link's voice in the New Sub. Emi. video. Link sounds different when he does that Spin Attack. Listen closely, it could just be me.--Oxico 22:45, December 29, 2007 (EST)

how, why, when, who, and wow (backwards) mom[edit]

Some can tell how to upload images into an article?--Fandangox 12:34, November 25, 2007 (EST)

Upload a file, then paste the name of the image into the article where you want it with [[Image:Imagename.png/jpg/whateverimageformat]]. Teamrocketspy621 12:36, November 25, 2007 (EST)
Ok, thanks, this will sound embarrasing...,but how do you upload a file?--Fandangox 12:37, November 25, 2007 (EST)
Thank you again. You think we should place this picture in the article? [:Image:Green buddies.jpg]] --Fandangox 12:44, November 25, 2007 (EST)
Nope. --RJM Talk 14:02, November 25, 2007 (EST)
'Kay, done. Picture's out of the article. Teamrocketspy621 14:05, November 25, 2007 (EST)
Well I just uploaded it to show them that I wasn't inventing this part of the subspace emissary.--Fandangox 14:20, November 25, 2007 (EST)

Recruiting[edit]

OK all who are willing. I need lots of help. I need all the moveset to look all alike. I need people willing to help! If you choose to accept this challenge, use Meta Knight's moveset as a perfect example. If you want to help the cause, leave your username under the category on my userpage called "Recruiting". This message is also there. Let's fix these movesets. --Oxico (talk) 20:49, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Huh[edit]

"If aimed at the edge of a stage in midair, it WILL miss Link, and affect any opponent behind him while Link can recover and edgeguard at the same time." - What does that mean? From where? To where? This is very unclear.

Here's the Problem[edit]

I understand alot of people like Link but, It seems like there giving him way too many pros. He has somewhere around 30? When Brawl first came out in the United States he had 8 or something. As brawl goes on we find new things but, he's jumped up very high. If a pro User can review this page I'm sure it would help.-PrelateZeratul

That's why I'm here. You can consider it fixed now... - Hatake91 (talk) 16:35, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
mm, I suggest you put some of those back before a sysop gets ya... Kperfekt722 (talk) 16:39, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Most of these I can defend my reasons for my edits. I mean come on they said use gale boomerang and avoid catching it is a great edgeguard then they said Gale boomerang was a good edgeguard??? Besides it also kept on talking about his specific combo's when we can just say he has high combo ability to help keep this article free of situational stuff like that... - Hatake91 (talk) 16:42, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
mm, true but the problem is that you are deleting both of the double statements, not just one. and yes, the combos did get a little bit ridiculous, but still... Kperfekt722 (talk) 16:49, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
...I see your point. Well I'll try to word this mess differently then, thanks for the advice - Hatake91 (talk) 16:52, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Left-handed[edit]

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=+laterality+

Laterality isn't a word. What is meant by the sentence "Link and Toon Link are the only characters in Super Smash Bros Brawl who are laterality left-handed"? JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 09:39, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

He probably means literally, which means exactly, or actually BEN!
Try "laterally". Look it up. 5280s (talk · contributions) 19:47, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Laterally means to one side so being laterally left handed makes sense. I've changed it to laterally for now. Dokutayuu (talk) 14:45, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Sumo Link[edit]

Is it worth mentioning that Sumo Link has data files which would indicate it was to become a trophy?

EDIT: I am so sorry, but I couldn't help myself. : - X

Tier reasons[edit]

I've noticed that for most of the characters, there is a reason for their tier placing, like "C. Falcon currently ranks bottom on the tier list, due to his poor matchups, low priority and attack speed." Link's however, is bare. I think it would be helpful if someone could add this. BEN!

Excellent. Thanks for adding his reasons. BEN!

Why???[edit]

Link is arguably the best player in the game. Though his recovery sucks, he makes it up in power and prowess. I can own all of my friends when using Link, even someone who mains MK. Why? Why do you guys hate Link??? Why is Toon Link better??? Why? (end of rant)Fried beef1 (talk) 00:49, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Sucky MK :D nah, theres no such thing. Once again, I tell everyone:If you want to prove hes good, win some tournaments JtM =^] (talk) 00:52, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Is there, perhaps a forum on this? I believe there is!O, Mighty Smoreking 00:54, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
He's very sluggish. His neutral A got worse, his Gale Boomerang has less range, Spin Attack is laughable, his grab lag is terrible, he has no decent spike, his forward smash is useless since only the first slash will apply most of the time, he's easily edgeguarded, and many of his moves has decreased in either lag or power. The only thing good about him is his kick-ass up smash and his zair comboing. Toon Link is better because he's harder to edgeguard, he's got a powerful spike, quicker moves that can destroy some of the more slower players, his forward smash is better, and he has overall better recovery. Still bad grab lag and very floaty, however. Meteorite (talk) 00:57, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
I think Link is a very good character but he is too slow and falls too fast. He is good in moves although gale boomerang and heroes bow aren't that good. He has a good up smash that is good for juggling and hitting players trying to hit you from above. Alex25 (talk)
Overall Link is a decent character with balanced speed and power, but unfortunately it is his falling speed that hurts him the most because it brings down the effectiveness his overall air game. However, he does have moves like Zair (Amazing vertical range matched only by Samus) and Dair (massive killing power) that can make at least acceptable air game if played properly. Many people also criticize his Up Special as well, but it's worth noting that it is one of the most powerful Up Specials in the series as well as still having decent vertical and horizontal distance. If his falling speed was more average or floatier like his Toon counterpart instead of falling practically faster than even the heaviest characters in the series, I think that Link would be at least a C (middle) tier character.

Someone said if we wanted to prove he's good, then win some tournaments. Well if you look up Smash Bros. tournaments, and look through them you'll find a tournament held by Best Buy. It was like Nationals or something. And the National Champion Daniel Jung, used Link as his character. So I think it is proof enough to say Link is a good, if not, one of the best characters. I use him and I think he's great, other than his slack recovery. But I always say. I'm so good, my recovery is never needed. Hope that is enough proof! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.176.182.64 (talkcontribs) 19:29, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

Sorry to rain on your "I <3 Link!" parade, but that's not how it works... Yeah, someone might have won a tournament with him, but that's only one tournament - the top tier characters like Meta Knight and Snake are the ones that win by far most of the tournaments. The tier lists are done by which characters win the most tournaments, and the fact that you can only come up with one that's been won using Link simply goes to show why he's so low down the tier list. Help with Link's recovery[edit]

If Link could use his hookshot after his spin attack, then his recovery would increase a good amount. I don't know, but if that was the case, then I would get KO'd a lot less.--Spenuela (talk) 15:49, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Remember though, Link can use his Spin Attack after...well, his Spin Attack. As your being launched, whip out a bomb and hold it. Do your Spin Attack before the bomb explodes; when it does you can do it again meaning you get a much higher recovery. It's not as great as being able to use your hookshot after for horizontal distance, but doing so would be a little unfair. Maybe if it's reach was a little longer: it's no where near long enough. -- JacktonTALK 15:54, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Link is not the only lefty[edit]

Zelda's attacks are also left handed as well. All of her attacks and specials which use hands come out of her left hand. The only time she uses her right hand is in taunting when she is facing one side. I don't know what Ganon's or Sheik's handiness is, but worth checking out to see if all the series characters are lefties.

Someone previously asked why do we hate link, why is Toon Link better. First, we never said anything about hating him, and as for myself, I like toon link better for the following reasons: his side smash can actually bring out it's full potential, as Link's can only hit twice at lower damages, toon links bow can actually deal damage at a range, it is much easier to do combos with TL's D air, despite Link's being more powerful, and TL's U smash is more useful then Link's. And someone else said Link is arguably one of the best characters in the game by saying he beat his friends who used MK and so on. This isn't very solid proof for your argument, as your friends (no offence) might just suck when compared to you. Think of this, MK knocks Link off the stage, then chases after him, MK can continually hit link with his various air attacks, preferably the N air, multiple times to chase link too far away from the stage so he can't recover, or MK can kill Link, depending on damage, and MK will then safely make it back on stage. MK's smashes also execute faster then links, giving MK a fairly large advantage. Kirbyblue (talk) 15:36, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

The Food thing[edit]

If it's true, then it is notable. Unless multiple characters have it, then it should remain on the Link page. MegaTron1XD:p 20:35, 6 May 2011 (EDT)

I haven't done any serious testing for this, so I'm not sure, but I seriously doubt that Link of all characters has the slowest item pickup time. Note that the original editor wrote "for some reason it feels like", meaning he may not have done serious testing. Mr. Anon (talk) 20:39, 6 May 2011 (EDT)
Had a look, and Link's eating while standing subaction appears to lack an "interruptable on frame 9" event that both Samus and Wolf (chosen at random) have, meaning the animation would have to continue for its full 20 frames (pretty much twice the time). Will look later to see how many other characters have this property (if any). Toomai Glittershine ??? The Wacko 20:57, 6 May 2011 (EDT)

Placement[edit]

Shouldn't Link's placement in 64 be his worst? He ranks 2nd to last for Sakurai's sake!User:RatedMforMario. Let's-a-go!~ 21:03, 11 February 2018 (EST)

First off, your tone is not acceptable. Secondly, no. As percentages, Link places 92.10% in Brawl, but 91.66% in 64. This is a small difference, but his Brawl placement is still lower regardless (because of the way I calculated it, 100% is the worst placement). Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation.
